After looking at the journals on this site, I realized just how spoiled we have been here.
I have always been thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail, creativity, and easy navigation of this site. I have been a member of many other discussion boards... under many names, and I can say, without qualification, that DU is the most interesting, intruiging, vibrant, varied, robust, and brilliant of them all.

I can't help but think that when the freepers come here and attempt to insert themselves, they must become transfixed by all the bells, whistles, and shiny stuff whose functions are so new and amazing...

I have to wonder how it feels to go back to riding in the back of a Gremlin...



So how does it feel to be a Bush-bot who has perhaps contributed to another DB... how does it feel to ride in luxury as someone just bumming a ride?
Well isn't it a kick that the Dems would be all too happy to take you to your destination in comfort...

If only you could pull your head out of W's tailpipe...

You have to activate it first, though. That should just be a matter of clicking the Journal Icon at the top and following instructions.

12. You have to create your journal first

you look up Skinner's message on journals, there's a link there, you answer two or three
questions and you are done.

Then you go to some cool things that you posted on DU, it could be your own post or
it could be somebody else where you made a cool comment and
you will see on the bottom of the entry a button on the post which says add to your journal
just click it and you've done it.

2. I'm with you...

I've done the whole message board thing for years. I used to do the AOL thing, until I dumped its sorry ass, then went to about.com and the Civil Liberties and Liberal boards there. Then I bumped around a few months and fell into DU. I've gone around a bit lately, hooked up with a few others, including the Arianna site (which is going away on the 20th), John Edwards' new blog site, and a couple others I can't remember at the moment, but I think DU is far superior to everything else I've encountered.

Not only is it so easy to navigate, but most of the people are great. Okay, I'm saying that in part because they think I'm great too, but...well...

there's been much well-deserved praise for the admins lately. I too am more than impressed and very PROUD to be a member here.

It is not only the bells and whistles of the site, but often, it is the brilliance of the posters that amazes me. They have helped me understand political issues and reinforced my belief that the liberal/progressive positions are the most humane and intelligent.

After that I kept coming back to read the TTCI... and I eventually joined. I was a really pissed off person... so many of my friends and family just went along with their 'Republican Leaders' without a thought. When I said, "this isn't right", they told me I was crazy.

I really needed this place to know that I wasn't.

I'm happy to say that I've even brought a few of them around. -And it's getting easier by the day.

first year they came out - either '72 or '73. After 100,000 miles I gave it to my nephew. After another 150,000 miles he gave it to his younger brother. It still runs - but only in reverse. He plans to restore it completely - when he does I will buy it back from him.
