Focus on the Family being attacked by both Left and Right

Focus on the Family founder Doctor James Dobson seems to be responding to attacks on a weekly basis. The latest, ads run by a left-wing group accusing Dobson of taking gambling money from an indicted lobbyist for an anti-gambling campaign two years ago.

It's the most recent in a string of attacks against the Colorado Springs-based organization. Earlier this month, Dobson's supporters on the religious right attacked him for a stance they said was pro-gay. But Colorado College Professor Bob Loevy says the increasing attacks are to be expected when you put your name into the political fray. Loevy explains, "He now is letting that prestige give some credibility to his political statements and his political activities. But he has to pay a price for this."
