So since our protests don't seem to get their attention, what if we brought the nation to a halt with a general strike if Bush goes into Iran? Of course that means that Congress has given him the go ahead.

move-Take about 2 - 3 weeks & do not participate in the corporate/gov't criminality at all.

At the end of 2-3 weeks the whole paper tiger will collapse & crumble.

I concur it'd be like herding cats. I have no great faith in the populace. My experience has been that they don't act until it's their ox being gored. (Often, their ox is bloody and beyond resusitation before they even notice).

because Alito was put in place to further the fascist agenda, I thought it would send a message to the corporate powers that WE will stop buying anything but what's absolutely necessary until there was SOME balance for the working man.

16. Why Just For Iran? Why Not Already? Because There Isn't Nearly Enough

people to join in to make it effective at all is why. If there were, since lord knows bushco's already destroyed our country enough to warrant a general strike, there would already be one that was being effective. Since there isn't one, I am hard pressed to believe if we attack Iran there would be enough additional people to sign on to then have one arise that was effective.

Not being a pessimist, just saying that there's already more then enough reasons for one yet one doesn't exist. I don't think going into Iran is going to change that, unfortunately.

boots for an Iranian invasion. Would that be enough to wake the people up? Unfortunately, I think the invasion of Iran is going to be done with nukes and very few troops. There are rumors out there. I think the threat of nuclear war might do the trick. Don't you?

By the time things there perpetuated enough to the extent that other nations with the capability of actually reaching us with nuclear arms joined the war against us things would be so far gone already that I doubt a general strike would mean a thing any more.
