Juan Cole Debunks Negroponte's Fake Doc Dump

Yesterday a recommended diary by Maha revealed that Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte dumped documents onto the internet that purported to be from Sadaam's archives; documents that supposedly gave proof of an Iraq-al Qaeda connection. Assrocket (from the pissant blog Powerline) as well as Investors Business Daily zeroed in on one particular document, calling it "a manual for Saddam's spy service". Problem was, the first page is in arabic and the rest was written by the Federation of American Scientists back in 1997.

The mystery was, what did the arabic say? Was it the Iraqi spy agency saying "wow, they sure fingered us but good"?

I emailed Juan and asked him what was up with the arabic, and he kindly just put the following on his website:

1. We knew where lies are: they're east, south, west, and north somewhat.
Pretty much everywhere you look.

Great catch.

them simultaneously.

The most logical explanation leading up to Iraq War II that I've heard is that Saddam wanted to make Iran believe they had wmd.

He couldn't admit to the findings of the UN because the threat of Iran was as real or more than the threat of our neo-cons and cabal? While our neo-cons do business with Iraq and Iran for their own private purposes, they finally got to move after waiting eight years for the Republican War Profitering White House to be in place. They had to do it early because of what was to follow, plus the weather, but most importantly because of Saddam's threat regarding the switch to the Euro. Meanwhile the clandestine business deals continued and still go down.

Why do they think we will believe them? Is it worth it to them to have only their lemmings believe it? That's all they've got. Enemy against enemy - Enemies declared friends. Switch. Bait. Lie. Profit. Make us uncomfortable. Steal half of our rights. Kill and mail some of our best. Slaughter. And then laugh at us for our faith and our money.
