.....bearing with me as I've gotten the education of my life. :wow: I thought I was up on my current events and had a fairly good idea of what my government was up to. I've never once believed my government told me the truth about everything but in my wildest nightmares I never thought my government was this bad. One thing for sure, the more I learn the more rabidly liberal I'm becoming. The learning process isn't over yet, not by a long shot. 5. I have always known the govt did a bunch of really rotten stuff, but even

in MY own extensive imagination (some say paranoia) I couldn't have conceived of this bunch of liars, thugs and bastards. I keep telling people that, 6 years ago, no work of fiction that included a description of these last 6 years would have ever gotten published--it would have been deemed simply beyond imagination.
Like you, I thank DU--the wonderful people on this board have made my exile in fundieville bearable, knowing I am not alone.

And I was paying attention before I started reading/lurking/joining DU, but my god, the information I have picked up on this site is astounding in its accuracy, and in how much sooner I know it before it's reported in the main stream media (if it ever is).

21. I know what you mean about getting accurate information and getting it....

......before it hits the airwaves or news papers.:wow: It's gotten so what I learn here I pass on to residents in my adult apartment building. I've passed information to them that SOMETIMES shows up in the newspapers two days later - - if at all.:shrug:

22. DU is a great place to get the straight skinny.

Not ultra liberal - there are other places for that, it's just an old school kind of question anything coming from the government says place. And you know, it's correct about 8 times out of 10, which is about as good as it gets.
