Wash Times: Political offensive targets Bush
Given the source, I'll take it with a grain of salt, but I'd be delighted if the Dem Leadership actually has this plan in place:

- - -

Senate Democrats have mapped a political battle plan for the March congressional recess that calls on lawmakers to stage press events with active duty military personnel, veterans and emergency responders to bash President Bush on virtually every one of his national security policies.

The game plan, devised by the office of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, is contained in a six-page memo distributed to Democratic senators on Thursday at a closed-door meeting at the Capitol and provided to The Washington Times by a congressional staffer.

Titled "Real Security," the political document calls for staged town hall events at military bases, weapons factories, National Guard units, fire stations and veterans posts.

...snip...

Jim Manley, Mr. Reid's spokesman, said yesterday the planned events are not part of a political campaign. They would involve only incumbent Democratic senators, some of whom are up for re-election, but not Democratic Senate challengers, he said. Democrats hope to capture Senate control in November's election.

2. Someone NEEDS to hold Bush's feet to the fire, since he's basically...
...committed treason while in office.

But I forget - he's above the law.

:sarcasm:

ought to be going on the record about what this Republican Syndicate is doing to this country....every single one of them.

6. Um, is anyone bothered by this part of the article:
"The game plan, devised by the office of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, is contained in a six-page memo distributed to Democratic senators on Thursday at a closed-door meeting at the Capitol and provided to The Washington Times by a congressional staffer."

Excuse me, but "distributed to Democratic senators on Thursday at a closed-door meeting at the Capitol and provided to The Washington Times by a congressional staffer."

My question is who is this "congressional staffer" and did Harry Reid really want this leaked to "The Washington Times"? Maybe I'm way off base here but doesn't this "leak" make some of you a little suspicious.

Maybe I'm being totally paranoid here, but IMO this entire article stinks to high heaven. If this is such a great strategy for our side and discussed "at a closed-door session", why would anyone (supposing he/she is really a staffer for Harry Reid) leak it?

7. I suspect that Republicans have a few of their team working as aides
for the Democrats. Hopefully, we have a few of ours working for Republicans.
