The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran and the movie 'Walk the Line'
I just got back from seeing 'Walk the Line' and the biggest surprise was when June Carter gives Johnny Cash a copy of 'The Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran. I didn't know a thing about June Carter and suddenly find myself extremely interested in who she was. She must have been a woman way ahead of her time! Can anyone tell me anything else I should know about June Carter?

1. You might check out this USA Today article written when June died

Edited to add: June was a very spiritual (not meaning religious, though she did go to church) person. I did not know about her giving The Prophet to Johnny until I saw Walk the Line, but from what I already knew about her, it does not surprise me.

4. I love it!
So grateful that a friend gave me a copy in college (early 80s.)

It's a beautiful book!
