It is Not Time to Investigate or Censure; It is Time for Impeachment!
I just read this and HAD to make one more post by Bill Hare
http://uruknet.info/?p=m21698&hd=0&size=1&l=x

The recommendations continue regarding investigating grounds for impeaching George W. Bush as well as censure. Periodically we also read and hear about petition efforts to attack Bush, Cheney, or Rumsfeld.

The time for such actions has long passed. The term "arrogance of power" that was reiterated so often in analyzing the actions of President Richard M. Nixon three decades ago has been carried to new meaning through the ruthless exercise of power by an unelected ruling Junta led by Dick Cheney.

Despite the Cheney-Bush Junta's disdain for France, the comment that unlike any other epitomizes its rule was attributed to France's King Louis XIV of "L'etat, c'est moi." This translates to "I am the state," directly applicable to a scorched earth policy by Cheney-Bush in which the United States Constitution has, according to some, been trashed with impunity....

Constitutional government has been demolished. The only way to retrieve it is through removing from office the destroyers. As Benjamin Franklin said when asked, at the close of the Constitutional Convention, what kind of government the new nation possessed, "A Republic if you can keep it."

That Republic has vanished. Shouldn't we seek to reclaim it?

1. Well, having a Ken Starr-type figure
with the Congress' sanction, complete supoena power, and unlimited funding WOULD be a big help toward reclaiming the Republic.

I hope for this, really, but in the meantime---with the cards as they're dealt---I'll take a serious censure threat as Democratic life-support.

4. gotta start somewhere...
I know lots of us have been on our alleged reps about impeaching Bush and his cabal since BEFORE 2004...and it's only NOW that there is a 'groundswell' beginning to be perceived.
:banghead:

Times like this I think our governing system resembles a dinosaur; the kind that had such a big body and such a tiny brain that it took quite a while for a kick in the arse to register.
:grr:

9. "A Republic if you can keep it." This quote invariably gives me
'goosebumps' which have become so pronounced since 2000...

"The term "arrogance of power" that was reiterated so often in analyzing the actions of President Richard M. Nixon three decades ago has been carried to new meaning through the ruthless exercise of power by an unelected ruling Junta led by Dick Cheney."

All of this administration's power belongs to the unelected! The Military Industry Complex, the Abramoff style PACs, the CEO's...We have to take back the powers granted to us by our constitution. What is it going to take, other than impeachment?

12. And This is For Conservative Lurkers...
I don't want to impeach Bush just because I'm angry that we lost the election. A lot of you seem to think that we're just bitter over the election, & that is why we want Bush out of power. Sorry, but at least in my case I don't call for every President I disagree with to be impeached. Bush lied to lead us into war, he probably stole the last two elections, he has been spying on people on the liberal side (which is why I object to his spying program. It has nothing to do with being "soft on terrorism"), he has too much control over the government...I could go on & on. He deserves impeachment. And what did you want to impeach Clinton for? Sex?!! If anyone wanted to impeach someone because they were bitter they lost the election, it was your side when Clinton won!
