This guy obviously got the RNC letter from Mehlman
Saw this at another message board I occasionally frequent:

Now they want to impeach our president for defending this country from terrorists. Russ Feingold wants to censure the president on the media/democrat made up wiretapping scandal. First of all, what the president did was LEGAL and was meant to protect this country from attacks from terror groups. Now this effective policy is no longer effective thanks to the NEw York Times releasing this story. And the democrats knew Bush was doing this and they KNEW IT WAS LEGAL.

The democrats and liberal media have proven once again that they side with terrorists over the United States.

Lol, where to start?

3. Begin with it being ILLEGAL! FISA is clear.
Congress authorized Bush to use "force" which Bush calims gave him the authority. But in the face of FISA, it clearly does not. Further, Congress did not give Bush the authority to use "force" domestically, that would have also required a repeal of Posse Comitatus.

Congress did not repeal FISA and did not repeal Posse Comitatus. Therefore, what Bush did is clearly ILLEGAL.

If Congress thought that what Bush did was legal, then Repukes in Congress would not be considering giving him the authority retroactively. Even Bush supporters know that what he did was illegal.

7. Definition of Posse Comitatus
Definitions of posse comitatus on the Web:

posse: a temporary police force
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

In common law, posse comitatus (Latin for "the power of the county") referred to the authority wielded by the county sheriff to conscript any able-bodied male over the age of fifteen to assist him in keeping the peace or to pursue and arrest a felon; compare hue and cry. It is the law enforcement equivalent of summoning the militia for military purposes.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_(Common_Law)

The Posse Comitatus (from the Latin phrase meaning "power of the county") is a loosely-organized right-wing social movement that opposes the United States federal government and believes in radical localism. There is no single national group, and local units are autonomous.

9. Posse Comitatus
The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States Act of Congress (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed in 1878 after the end of Reconstruction. The Act was intended to prohibit Federal troops from supervising elections in former Confederate states. It generally prohibits Federal military personnel and units of the United States National Guard under Federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act substantially limit the powers of the Federal government to use the military for law enforcement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act

Congress gave Bush the authority to use military force. However, Posse Comitatus restricts the use of military force within the US.

If you argue that the NSA wiretappings is authorized by the authorization of force, then the wiretapping is an extension of Military Force and therefore restricted by Posse Comitatus.

Personally, I do not believe that it falls under Posse Comitatus, because I do not believe that it was authorized by Congress. However, if you believe that it was authorized under the "use of force", then it must fall under Posse Comitatus just as other uses of force would be.

4. Neocons are like that.....
....they follow their Bush Shepard through the mud and the forest of corruption only to fall off the cliff one by one. I like the fact that I'm on the sidelines waving to them as they fall!

8. Don't you know? It's impossible for Lord Jesus Bush to break the law.
He gets his instructions straight from God so nothing he does can be illegal.
