Just when it was becoming obvious that the spineless Democrats were not about to seize the opportunity of sinking the badly listing Cheney/Bush ship of state ~ Sen Russ Feingold seizes the banner of truth and fires a broadside by introducing a resolution for censure and calls for a debate.

And yes, he is ridiculed and opposed by both republicans and Democrats alike ~ but is he not saying out loud what more than half the country already believes ~ is he not defending our Constitution which our President swore he would do and has instead publicly debased.

William Greider, The Nation, captures the lunacy of this defining moment and rightfully calls Feingold an authentic hero of the Republic.

Russ' case for censure was strong enough on its own merits and he didn't have to make reference to impeachment as his "badforthecountry" bogeyman to make that case.
