Mississippi burning?

Is all that red on this image fire? Why haven't we heard about this?

1. The small red dots are fires, I believe

The big reddish swath down the west side of Mississippi is the floodplain of the Mississippi River (i.e. what is called the Delta in MS).

4. No, I think the fires are that bluish-green stuff that looks like...

...low clouds in the S.W. corner of Mississippi in that picture.

That looks like one of the false color/near infrared images.

Edit: The red areas are usually old burn areas or farmers fields. The Rust color areas are Flooded or swampy areas.

I saw last week that Louisiana was burning big time, so they must be spreading.
