More investigation instead of Fiengold censure?

I have heard many democratic senators say there needs to be more investigation before a censure of the President.

Does anyone know how there is going to be an investigation if the republican senate and house refuse to order one?

Are our senators really this clueless?

1. Feingold moved censure into committee where it gives the basis for further

requests for documents and continues the debate for the public arena. That is exactly where he wanted it to be.

A surprising number of DUers and lefties have fallen for the Frist ploy of demanding a vote now and a declaration of where you stand on censure RIGHT AWAY as a tactic to stop further discussion of any wrongdoing by Bush or the chance to collect any further evidence. They want a censure vote (they have the numbers to win) and to MOVE ON, shutting down any more reason to discuss NSA spying in the public arena.

Is it me, or does it seems maybe some of Pelosi's comments are taken way out of context? (I know, doh!) Also, if you read to the end, it seems, well, all over the place, for lack of better description. The corporate MSM and Republican message machine has the Dems in Congress jumping through hoops if you believe this stuff. My question is, how do we find a cohesive message and game plan if theirs is so distorted after being filtered through the corporate media? No wonder we're all confused.

9. Corporate media is doing what the GOPs want - spin the story against Dems

and their usual tactic of making Dems see more divided than they are.

Feingold, himself, said Reid has been great about the censure and was pleased it was in committee in his Ed Schultz radio interview. That should have been the story since last Wednesday, but corporate media have been completely ignoring that aspect of the story and pushing discord that wasn't there, while Dem senators HAD to focus on the budget battle and all of its issues, including ANWR, that were happening during that same timeframe.

GOPs were able to sneak in a lot of crap last week while media and the left activist base were looking the other way.

3. What do you mean more investigation?

Essentially, there's been zip in the way of investigation. Although i support censure, it has even less of a chance of succeeding than investigations.

Rorshach test, you know, with the little butterfly thingies and when everything turns out to be WMD's we can get him on an insanity charge.

5. Conyer's hearing was already enough

and we don't need an investigation- Bush broke the law. He knows it. We know it. The constitution calls for impeachment.

And yet no representative will come foward and introduce articles of impeachment over illegal wiretapping. Conyers is pushing for a committee to investigate iraq torture etc, and censure over Iraq, but not illegal wiretapping.

THAT is what we need to investigate. How hard is it to come out and speak the blatantly obvious when you have the will of the people behind you?

6. The votes are just not there....yet

Dragging the process out is a good thing. If there is one of those Fristian "up or down votes" NOW, this minute, right away, quickie, quickie...then the Monkey gets to put the issue BEHIND him.

The idea is to keep it in front of him, so he is forced to keep his eye on it...lest he risk tripping over it.

With any luck, there will be votes for censure in the Senate come November, or votes for impeachment in the House...or maybe enough of both.
