7. Oddly enough, the way America has turned against the war.
It took many more years and many more casualties before America turned against the slaughter in Vietnam.

Sadly, I don't attribute this to any great realization on the public's part of compassion or morality, but of the failure of the government to bring about a dazzling "victory" before the average American became bored and dissatisfied that the "smart bombs" and really kewl tanks didn't provide them with video-game like "completion".

the administration has taken...from false WMD intelligence to unrelated terror ties...to defending against what's described as unpatriotic "cut and run" mentality.
