Anybody notice the political "comments" in The Big Love ?
The husband is a polygamist who has 3 wives and 3 houses with one big back yard. He fills his Viagra prescription and sleeps with a different wife on a different night each week. During one scene, when they had company invited over and they were discussing the "war", the #1 wife remarked that she had two sons that would soon be 18 years old, and one of the visiting ladies disparingly said, "Barb, you're not a Democrat, are you"? These comments were from Mormons that were practicing polygamy and sleeping with a different wife every night and the worst thing they could possibly think of was whether she might be a "Democrat". I couldn't help but think of poor ol' Mutt Romney... :)

With Mutt Romney, a Mormon, running for President. We should pay more attention to this show, I think... :)

3. Cracked me up!
My husband and I watched it and I must say I never thought I'd see the day when they'd greenlight a TV series about polygamy! That said, I liked it. I thought that comment was the funniest line of the show!
:)

5. There have been some subtle political undertones in
both episodes. In particular listen to the kids at the fast food place talking. Their conversations are subtle reflections of how they view their world through the framework of their religion.

As for the poor viagra popping husband, any males who have fantasies of more wives ought to see what this guy is contending with. The story is getting darker too. Do you think the father-in-law is the one whose poisoning his father?

11. We could cut HBO out of our cable package. It's by subscription.
You don't have to have it, so if you disapprove, don't suscribe. No one is doing that though. All the shows are very risque for shock value although they are also very well written and entertaining. No one seems to be giving up their subscriptions.

That's what would end it. If the RW morality police decide to try to get HBO censored it will really be a bad thing for America because then we will know we are being governed by the Pat Robertsons and Rev. Moons of America.
