Ann Coulter's controversial new book...

Posted by Onnesha Roychoudhuri at 5:33 PM on March 9, 2006.

Well, she's back at it. Ann Coulter will be publishing another book this summer. The only good news: the marketing campaign may just be as asinine as the book. From the publisher:

What is it? The NEW BOOK from Ann Coulter -- her first completely original one since 2003's Treason

What's it about? TOO HOT TO SAY. We can't even mention the title -- but we can attest that it'll be her most important, timely, and controversial book yet.

Yes, it's "thoroughly controversial, entirely confidential." In other words, they have no idea what the hell it's about because she hasn't written it yet, or it's such an empty screed that they're in the tempestuous throes of overhaul editing. But Coulter probably already has a nice fat royalty check in her pocket. Blech.

9. Question for you . . .
New here . . .I see the talk about "fundies"--and by that you mean fundamental religious--how many in the Republican party would you estimate are "fundies"?

Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 02:27 AM by Viva_La_Revolution
but they've been the loudest ones lately, those are the ones you hear 75% of the time. The old-school republicans have been so quiet, maybe they all died off?

19. I'm guessing less than .5 percent of Republican party is atheist.
Not sure where you're going with your line of questioning. There are fringe members in both parties, however to collude the atheist fringe with the religious fringe in the GOP is disingenuous and misleading.

If you know of a GOP atheist with a dominant voice in the party, please share. I'm neither an atheist nor a Republican but I'd wager the philosophies of both are mutually exclusive.

Ask yourself these questions:

Would the Republican party welcome homosexuals, Muslims, pro-choice advocates?

And by "welcome" I mean would the leadership and rank & file both court and embrace them publicly as they do the religious right. Clearly the answer is no. The dominant voices of the religious right (Robertson, Falwell, Dobson, et al.) remain disproportionately dominant in the GOP to any other group.

IMHO, and with all due respect, Atheists, Muslims, homosexuals, and other minorities are irrelevant to the leadership of the GOP.

And welcome to DU :hi:

But it is funny that her book is coming out on Beast Day.

21. Wouldn't "Beast Day" be 6/1/06?
Isn't the number of the beast 616, and not 666? Ann the Mann apparently can get nothing right.

8. How about Moveon.org organizes house parties for Coulter book burnings?
And don't even go down that 1st Amendment lane either. Private citizens are well within their rights to demonstrate against an author by burning her books.
