HEADLINE: Bush Urges U.S. to See Progress in Iraq
You see, gentle reader, the problem is with YOUR perception! You just are NOT paying attention to the BUZZWORD, namely "progress"! Kindly look beyond the violence and carnage, would you please?

====

WASHINGTON - After three years of war in Iraq, President Bush is trying to get Americans to look beyond the unrelenting violence that dominates news reports and see progress.

Progress is the buzzword at the White House as Bush headlines a campaign tied to the war's anniversary to buck up public support of the mission.

The president continues yet another series of speeches on Iraq — there have been several similar blitzes in the last year — Monday at the City Club of Cleveland. He planned to take questions about his war policy and other topics from the audience in the heavily Democratic city.

White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Bush would update Americans on his vision for Iraq — highlighting the progress being made while acknowledging that not everything has gone perfectly....

9. And even THAT (going to Mars)
is nothing more than an attempt to maintain military dominance of space. It galls me to be so cynical, but these cretins have done nothing to promote the general welfare. They never will. We've become so accustomed to looking for the worst in these people that it seems impossible that they could do anything positive or selfless.

6. Another fake "town meeting"
He planned to take questions about his war policy and other topics from the audience in the heavily Democratic city.

Except every Republican organization in Lake County will be in the audience.
"Mr Buxh...please tell us more about the rug in the Oval office."

10. Democracy What? It's about LIBERTY - Stupid!!!
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 04:21 AM by heirs_of_liberty
Iran and South Carolina are 'democracies' Germany was a 'democracy' that elected a Christian Conservative Fascist called Hitler, Great Britain has been a lame Anglican Tory-Conservative Fascist 'democracy' that has caused and started dozens of selfish, criminal wars of aggression all over the world and in it's own land over the years, and until Neo-Nazi Christian Conservative George W Bush 'democratically' came along, America was a Liberal Democratic Nation based upon the fundamentals of secular Republican Liberty that had never initiated a completely unprovoked war under totally false pretenses.

Liberating people is about giving them permanent individual rights and religious freedom, and never ever about giving them any kind of a 'democratic' opportunity to vote in and establish some sort of hateful, dogmatic conservative religious-socialist fascist tyranny of their 'choosing'!

Sadly Saddam's Ba'athists only had to fight two enemies in Iraq to maintain good order, but this new Haliburton-CIA regime now has to fight no less than four different enemies, hows that for progress?

11. And in other news: DHS ordered 300 million Rose Colored Glasses
to be distributed across the country Monday. It's part of Bush's new "See the War My Way" initiative and is expected to have promising results. The glasses will be arriving from China in 150, non-inspected shipping containers.

13. define "progress"
what are the "milestones" which define "progress"? bush* won't set any

instead he points to the generals and says he follows their advice and requests. basically, bush* has shifted responsibility (again) - anything going wrong is/will be some "general's" fault.

It's leadership through blameability

14. It does drive one crazy that every one tells their own story
You could read one side and all is good and other all is wrong. I have ended up with the people of Iraq are very happy Saddam is gone and that is all I can be sure of. The country from here looks a mess with some type of fighting going on so that few can get to these so called new schools were seem to have painted all over the country. The lady that blogs from Iraq is still saying the same thing she was saying years ago. It is a mess.

16. Instead of reading these phony speeches...
the Sock Puppet only needs to recite one sentence of the truth.

"The terrorists want to control the oil. Our way of life will be at risk". George W. Bush (Nov. 2005)

19. Sorry, I can't see what's not there! ABC news had an Iraqi who's
working for them, in secret, explain how his views have changed over the past 3 years. With the invasion, he was happy and excited, now he believes his life and Iraq are worse off. I really don't care what the Pentagon or administration says...the only ones whose views count are the Iraqis.
