Moral Relativism

"Those who are fit to rule are those who realize there is no morality and that there is only one natural right, the right of the superior to rule over the inferior."
-- Neoconservative hero Leo Strauss

1. The greater problem with Leo
Strauss is that he deliberately misreads the work of Carl Schmitt to justify this filthy moral premise. Schmitt's flirtation with Nazism and Heidegger show the range of possible associations/purposes Schmitt's work could serve. Strauss drops much from Schmitt of value, leaving this thin and morally corrupt premise as the jewel of the Catholic jurists work. I don't apologize for Schmitt, and I feel he earned his time in jail, but I hope to show how rotten neo-conservatism is that Strauss can offer no more enlightening and elevating moral insight than "might makes right". Iraq clearly shows the folly of such nonsense. Perhaps you will elect mature adults for higher office now?

2. I still can't get over the fact that we now have a torture policy.
That's the type of stain that just won't go away.
