Face the truth.
So far, they have won. There has been a successful coup by the military industrial complex and the neocons. Our job if we are to be successful is to expose it to the public at large and to fight it every step of the way in every way possible, in every bill they put forth in Congress, and every and any nomination or appointment to government office they put forth. Any other strategy only provides the same series of defeats politically for the democratic party and the preservation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Face the truth and do something about it. Do not vote for any go along democrats. Vote for the real patriots only. Ignore this advice at continued peril.

1. Yep. do not vote for any
go along democrats is very good advice, but too many won't heed it. Look at what happened to Russ Feingold's Censure Resolution. Not a single member supported him, despite the fact that 60% now oppose the war, and even more think we should pull out by the end of the year.

Wimpy demonstrations won't do it. We should be sitting in at the offices of every single Senator and Congressman, we should getting each state governor to refuse to allow National Guard troops to be deployed to Iraq.

We should be doing everything possible to make sure real Democrats are elected this November, at every level, and that includes running ourselves.

3. Many won't heed this advice because they only see
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 08:40 AM by mmonk
it as a political game of posturing for popularity as defined, unfortunately, by the corporate press. Many do not see the true nature of the fight before them and if one cannot understand that, they cannot win. No one can take for granted that things will just swing the other way. No one can just assume the loss of rights or the US's standing in the world can turn back to the way it was before. True liberty requires vigilance.

4. Not true.
Boxer, Harkin, and Kerry all support Feingold's censure resolution.

2. K&R See the front page of DU for strong reasons to do as you say
This is what the Vichy Dems have given us and this is planned for US citizens:

'NYT' Sunday Bombshell: Secret U.S. Torture Site in Iraq
Just in time for the third anniversary of the Iraq war, The New York Times offers a bombshell account Sunday on a secret U.S. torture facility in that country that remained in business even after the Abu Ghraib abuses became known.

The article by Eric Schmitt and Carolyn Marshall reveals that an elite Special Operations forces unit took one of Saddam Hussein's former torture centers near Baghdad Airport and made it their own.

They called it the Black Room.
