FOX: who you gonna believe about civil war, Bush or Zarqawi?
The very nice gym I work out in is freeper haven, unfortunately. They have Fox news blaring in the men's locker room, there is no way to avoid it.
This morning, I'm around the corner, getting ready to go shower, so I don't know who the foxidiot was interviewing, but I heard THIS question:

-----The administration says there's no civil war, and Zarqawi says there are X number of people killed per day, so its a civil war, so who should we believe, our own govt. or Zarqawi?----

I'm thinking, oh, brother, they could have quoted any number of sources saying its a civil war, but by framing the question thusly, in order for someone to say its a civil war makes them in bed with Al Queda. sheesh!

to the official's credit (I don't know who it was), he didn't completely swallow the bait, he continued to cheerlead bush but didn't discount the civil war. Of course, he might have later, as I was on into the shower by that time.

What I found interesting, though, is that Fox is having to ADDRESS the question. That means some of their sheeple are wavering. Some of them must be getting news from other sources. LOL.

2. Fox has to at least have a fig leaf of respectability
I mean there's very few anymore who will pretend they are in the middle of the road, even among Conservatoids. But they don't want to make it too obvious.

5. But maybe
that's the point of FoxNews: to try and negate hot-button issues with their upside-down logic?

It's pure Rovian strategy - not to avoid difficult issues but just to attack them head-on and flip them round so that it becomes an accusation against your enemies(instead of a defense).

It's the PR equivalent of Ju-Jitsu (or Aikido - i.e. any martial art where you use your attacker's momentum to throw them off balance).

7. See if you can change the channel at your gym.
I do it at mine every time I walk in and that propaganda is on. It makes me smile, knowing that I have helped other people have a better day without their heads having to explode. :)

9. I was gonna suggest that
After all, isn't the gym supposed to cater, if only a little bit, to its members? A Three Stooges marathon would be preferable to having Fox on.

12. they control the feed from their office.
no controls for the workers...er....excercisers.

I wish. I know the owner is a Hummer drivin Bush guy, so I don't think I have much chance to change things. Unfortunately its the only gym in my area with a shower and decent equip.
