but it is not the apocalypse of Christian fundamentalists. Every culture has had their own form of apocalyptic ending just as they have their own creation mythologies.

I don't think you need to be a mystic, psychic or professional prognosticator to see the writing on the wall with the way human beings are headed.

America, as an empire, will have an end and often these ends are pretty ugly. We are coming to a crossroads in this world and I think with all of the destruction we have done to this planet, good ole Mother Earth will adjust (as we have seen) and we (the humans) will suffer as a result of her "adjustments".
