Serious question: When will the issue of Bush's mental health be explored?

No joke or sarcasm here. I'm not a psychoanalyst (I know there are a few on DU), but the man really does not seem mentally stable to me when I watch him speak.

Thinking back to how Reagan was pretty much out of commission from 1986 on, I wonder how much we'll end up learning about Bush's mental state while claiming to be a "war president."

I think it's entirely possible that he's psychotic.

I'm hoping that the hindsight will lead to a review of the entire assessment of fitness process and make it possible to relieve such people of their duties in a more timely and orderly fashion...for their own well-being and treatment of course. :evilgrin:

IIRC, in WWone, Gen Pershing ordered the execution of the one million US deserters/stragglers in europe.. but his underlings felt he was just a bit odd, so they ignored his direct order. Officers can get away with ignoring orders, it seems. Source: a PBS show two yrs ago, about ww1.

5. they seem to be juggling his meds around....

when they give him stimulants, he can organize his thoughts better but his jaw locks up. It looks like he is binge-drinking and that screws up his meds. He has to be getting something for the anxiety/paranoia. We will probably hear about it later after they're done naming airports and highways after him.

The clown got where he got in life by being born into a priviliged family that propped him up, covered his butt and advanced him despite his actions, and developed a swarmy charm, that in a package allowed him to get by in life ... He is deluded into believing that he is as great as the people who foisted him to power made him out to be ... But, believing that is part and parcel of being the idiot he is ...

What you see when you see him speak is a man who is completely in over his head ... As Al Franken accurately describes him, he is that guy who is the third funniest guy in a fraternity ... Dumb as a post, and gets by with crude jokes ... In the clinch, which is ANY time he is not reading off a script, he falls back into character ... PAINFULLY inadequate for a president, but it is all he knows ...
