A post earlier that got me thinking.......It was about the average family
& what they have in savings & how life circumstances & bad times can affect one's financial security. How you can't judge someone's fiscal responsibility unless you've walked in their shoes.
My Question: Does the Democratic Party have an intrinsic financial Achille's heel because they are the ones that support the "less fortunate"? Money buys influence, so we are behind before we begin. So without the bucks, we are "disadvantaged."

How do we counter "The Big Bucks"?

1. That's an age old question since the days of Rome.
Feudalism, aristocracy, corporatism is all one and the same, just different titles, but the same control. That control of the ownership class over the proles/peasants/plebes, etc. is historically the most stable, ongoing, and hardest to dislodge political system that's ever been invented.

If there was a sure fire answer, then we wouldn't be worried about "Big Bucks". Unfortunately, we're still searching for that cure.

4. Overall sentiment has to override the money. Yeah I just had a big
DUH moment but throwing money at the thing just leaves us poorer. $10 here $50 there just seems to get us nowhere.

5. Yes, How can I better couch the term? But who cares when we don't even
have a couch to sit on and those old boomers won't get out of the way?

8. Heard that.
In my life, every time I've done well financially was when I worked for myself.

3. I think it does. I went broke trying to save the country in 2004. I
will have a much harder time giving this year and I suspect there are a lot of people in the Democratic Party just like me.

6. Because our money does not go as far under this regime & we have
to care for our families first - a sticky wicket.

7. That resonates with me. I know what you mean, but
we have to keep giving. We have to believe in our party, and as you say, keep trying to save our country. I too, just about gave all I had and then some in 2004, but I know it made a difference. We have to believe we are in better shape for this year and for 2008 because of 04.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about this and I have to have the attitude that I'd spend that money all over again, if asked.
