This One, Single Question by a Reporter can Impeach Bush
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 03:58 PM by rpgamerd00d
"What is your relationship with the group called Project for a New American Century, and why is it that your policies here and abroad match perfectly with their agenda, including using a terrorist attack on the United States to prompt a pre-emptive war in the middle east?"

DEADLY followup when he denies knowing who PNAC is:

"Followup question, sir: If you know nothing about this radical organization, then how is it that VP Dick Cheney, your brother Jeb Bush, your Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, your friend Paul Wolfowitz, and other members of your administration and the Republican Party are the people responsible for founding this group, and how is it that your domestic and foriegn policy EXACTLY MATCHES the agenda of this radical group?"

Instant Impeachment, Dem Sweep in 06 and 08.

3. It's a nice idea, but...
first, you wouldn't get a follow-up with a question like that.

second, even if you did, I doubt his answer would include an outright denial of knowledge of PNAC. He'd more likely skirt the question by discussing all the wonderful progress we're making in the Middle East through his policies, regardless of whether they happen to be he same as PNAC

third, after calling PNAC a terrorist group, said reporter would never be called on again, would probably be replaced in the press corps, would possibly lose his/her job and would certainly be dismissed as a partisan attack dog, not a "respectable" journalist.

8. I think you wouldn't get a follow up because ...
of all the goo from Rove, Cheney, and Bush's heads simultaneously exploding in rage and/or shock.

he'd probably call it a think tank and pretty it up with words to make it look rather benign.

14. You are like me - angered that the press does not ask the right
questions and doesn't followup for each other. But, I also think that they should come up with a question that he can't filibuster (easily) and that you analyze possible answers to cut him off at the pass. And questions should be targeted without any editorial comments -- Too much info leads to too many openings to seize upon and filibuster with.

I think your question is perfect, with one exception. Throwing in the "using a terrorist attack on the US" --- I can just hear his filibuster now. He would get angry and act appalled that anyone would suggest her would do that, and ignore answering anything about PNAC. So, I would end the question at "agenda". What is your relationship with the group called Project for a New American Century, and why is it that your policies here and abroad match perfectly with their agenda ?

18. following PNAC's policies is not illegal or impeachable by itself
PNAC is not outlawed, and we have freedom of association and freedom of speech.

However, in the course of realizing PNAC's agenda, he did some impeachable things.

19. You underestimate their resources
Look, let's say by some miracle you actually get your follow-up after the first question.

The first thing that happens is bush says your question is out of bounds, and really offensive -- after all, you just said his brother is a member of a terrorist group. He won't be answering you except maybe to call you a conspiracy theorist, using the 9/11 attacks to advance your unpatriotic agenda.

The next thing that happens is you get branded a media pariah. You won't be at any more DC press briefings. No one in the corporate press will touch your material anymore, no matter what the topic.

Then, the real marginalization begins. You're a communist, terrorist sympathizer, anti-American soldier-hater. You won't be able to show your face outside your home without catching shit -- as long as you have a home, that is.

Your family gets it too -- your spouse, children, siblings, parents, they're all branded as honorary Al Qaeda. No-fly lists, banking troubles, the works.

So you're out of a job, unemployable, untouchable, and eventually -- whether by your own hand or someone else's -- you'll be listed as a suicide.

Of course, all of this is done outside the context of your original inquiry, as much as possible. But the rest of the media whores know, oh yeah they know. You're an example to them of what happens when you go up against the bushistas, the big money power brokers.

... just why Bush has no intention of replacing any of his inner circle of advisors. This has nothing to do with personal or party loyalties -- IT'S LOYALTY TO PNAC AN ITS OBJECTIVES.

The MSM should be all over this!!!!!!

difficult for Bush to weasel out of a yes or no answer. Instead of asking "what is your relationship", ask him point blank if he adheres to the PNAC principles and, while you are at it "do you adhere to Biblical Reconstructionism".

This would get these terms out in public for discussion.
