"Friends don't let friends vote Republican" (Elephant with strike-out)
... Seen on a bumper sticker in Portland, Oregon.

More and more of us are speaking out on our vehicles, in public places, everywhere.

Of course, we're in the blue (Western) side of Oregon -- but we've even noticed some difference on travel to red states.

19. Are you addressing this to me, the original poster?
None of what I have posted is copyrighted, because I only reported seeing the bumper sticker.

Your turn...

In peace,

4. Yea I like that, even though I have a friend of 35 or so years
and he still thinks bush* is the cats meow. I haven't given up and I respect anothers right to their own opinions. :hi:
I have a couple nieces in Oregan, my brother settled there after ww2. They come back here to Ok pretty much every summer and consider themselves as okies down deep. The last time I visited them in their native state was when I was on my way over to VN.

9. I have that sticker on my car! (but without the elephant)
And I've had to replace it THREE times--my gay republican neighbor (whom I actually adored, save for this incident) parked next to me in our carport, and was peeling it off. I was livid that somebody was removing it, and ordered several extras from Northern Sun. After the third time I replaced it, he gave up.

We live in a single family neighborhood with 262 families. Since 2001, I rarely talk politics with neighbors any more. We do discuss it with friends whom we know rather well.

Sex, religion, and politics -- not good topics in some groups. I get my rocks off on my audio show once a week.

Good thing your "gay Republican neighbor" didn't run his key over your paint job!

This is one of the reasons I don't want to move to a condominium -- along with having to sharing common walls and other location with any person who drinks heavily, smokes, screams at his/her kids, keeps really late hours, or has one or two dogs that bark all the time.

"Good fences make good neighbors."

In peace,

Radio_Lady

PS. Just noticed your signature line! "Barbara Bush's uterus should be declared a Superfund site." I LOVE it!

14. Well, your neighbor clearly has some serious mental problems.
Anyone who's gay, and STILL supports B*sh in 2006
is someone I would steer well clear of!

And now, to get this back "on topic",
another BUMPER STICKER:

15. He's a stockbroker, so I'm guessing that may be why.
Ties to the financial sector, that is. My husband and I couldn't figure out why such a sweet, friendly, ostensibly bright (and gay!) guy like Chad could EVER be a republican. We lived in West Hollywood at the time (a solidly gay, liberal community); shortly before we moved to northern CA a couple of years ago, he and his longtime partner moved to Oklahoma. That one puzzled us as well.

18. Good one! I've been a bumper sticker reader and vanity plate
decipherer for years.

Of course, I'm always troubled by this one:

"If you can read this, you're FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE!"

20. I saw a good one just a few days ago:
When Jesus said "Love your enemies",
I think he meant don't kill them.
