Bush to campaign for SANTORUM: $10,000 for a photo with them

WASHINGTON - President Bush's lackluster approval ratings haven't kept Sen. Rick Santorum from seeking his help to raise money. Bush is scheduled to attend a private fundraising dinner Friday evening for Santorum at a Sewickley Heights residence. The two are not scheduled to appear together publicly.

Among Pennsylvania voters in a Quinnipiac University poll released last month, Bush had a 37 percent approval rating. The number is consistent with recent nationwide polls. Santorum, the No. 3 Senate Republican, is trailing his leading Democratic opponent, Pennsylvania Treasurer Bob Casey, in polls in what could be the state's most expensive Senate race in history...

In June, Bush had a private event for Santorum in Bryn Mawr that helped raise $1.5 million.

Richard P. Simmons, the former chairman and CEO of Allegheny Technologies, is playing host to Friday's fundraiser. The price is $1,000 to attend, and $10,000 for a photo with Santorum and Bush, said Virginia Davis, Santorum's campaign press secretary.
