Well guess what ! You're up next. That's right. Even though you people kissed Bush's ass and sold out the country, he and his gang are now blaming YOU for their problems. It's almost funny to watch you guys the last day or so, questioning yourselves about the obvious strawman that Rove has built.

I want to laugh at you and say I told you so, but things are a bit too serious to make light of. But, you have the power if you want to redeem yourselves. It ( redemption ) won't come by being a sucker for the Rove/Cheney trap being laid. You've got to outsmart them.

You got to go back to the 2000 election and write all the things you should have, then come forward 5 years, and put in print and on the tube all the things you know to be true. This will save the country, and partially redeem your profession.

10. I hate to sound callous but if the media investigated the Iraq War

a little bit more maybe they wouldn't have died! I for one am not asking them to "adhere to your narrow world view"! I am asking them to investigate and report!! I demand they get away from the scripted press conferences and this cowering to the WH!!

So even if American citizens in 2002 were only 30% behind Bush and only weakly supporting the war in Iraq (as they are now), the media still would have failed to question the Bush Admin.? I doubt it. They would have spoken up. Yet they were just as errant as the majority of us were during the poisoned era following the terror attacks, and it will take years of study to figure out why they laid down. But none of us should pretend that we understand the entire problem and therefore can group journalists together into a single entity deserving of death.

We have a choice. If a majority of the American people, in 2002, didn't want to hear the sound of drumbeats and guns, more in the news media would have felt emboldened to respond. But those pushing for peace and diplomacy were in the minority. This is a market-driven system in which we do have a choice. The media we want are the media we make.

we get the media we deserve, the Independence shown in the past has been absent in this particular crisis. I don't recall a time in the history of this Country that there has been a total collapse of media integrity, THAT, is an individual failure on the part of most of those who chose this field .
I'm well aware of that editorial content is a result of corporate control and it's interest, but there's no excuse for lack of principle.

20. Here's what the media should do.....

They should come out full on and tell the public that they have actually been holding back the real "bad news". Photos of streets running red with blood and body parts. Dead women and children being loaded in the back of pickup trucks, collateral damage to get one insurgent. Hell, they haven't even been allowed to photograph the coffins of the returning dead here in the US. Blood has been digitally removed from photos that have been published in the main stream media to make this debacle more palatable for public consumption.
The MSM should come out with guns blazing and squelch this propaganda about not reporting the "good news" out of Iraq and counter with the really "bad" stuff they have refused to print and publish.
