Shout out for "V for Vendetta"!! If you haven't seen it, go!!!

Saw it for the 3rd time tonight. I have to say I love it. Besides the political messages in it, there's a lot of literary allusions that enrich the movie.

For example, it borrows quite a bit from 1984 in some ways -- the big TV screens, and John Hurt! In the last version of 1984 made, John Hurt played the protagonist Winston Smith. In "V", he's more the Big Brother character.

Mix in a little Dr. Phibes, Count of Monte Cristo, Man in the Iron Mask, Shakespeare and the Sex Pistols, you've got a movie!
