When the 'christian' Right does a boycott, are we supposed to ignore it?

"After today, Automotive News probably will be boycotted by the American Family Association.

And we'd be glad to join Ford Motor Co.

The folks at American Family have reinstituted a boycott against Ford because Ford is advertising in some gay magazines. The association projects that to mean that Ford is supporting a gay agenda.

Don't those folks know that Ford is supporting an agenda to sell a car to anyone in the United States who would like to buy one?"

The 'christian' Right is boycotting companies that don't kowtow to their ideology.

We as Liberals and Progressives have sat around twiddling our thumbs for the past many years that they have been doing this.

NO MORE.

THIS is how they gain influence.

THIS is how they gain supporters.

THIS is a way they enact their agenda.

THIS is why they are winning.

We need to do Counter Boycotts and Neo-Boycotts, Counter Boycotts to support those companies that are under attack by the 'christian' Right and Neo-Boycotts to boycott those who have submitted to the 'christian' Right.

Case in point: We used to trade at a shop run by what we thought was a kindred spirit, politcally. One day, while discussing the upcoming Selection, she told us she was going to vote for Il Douche, because he was going to "look out" for the small business-owner.

She's out of business now, not sure if her politics turned off that many other customers or not.

Seems that Business owners are more often than not Conserevatives. If not out-and-out ReTHUGs, at least the dope-smoking "Libertarian" variety...

5. Well I won't buy a Ford

but it has nothing to do with any boycott from insane people. On the other hand my mother in law bought a new Ford last week, so good for her sweet little heart. Ford is a business in America trying to make a profit and if they want to go after the Gay dollar and lordy there's lots of them Gay dollars, then let the market speak.

I wonder if people who go to church on Sunday who pull into the parking lot driving a Ford will be stoned to death? And what will they do if next year's boycott dujour is Chevrolet? Jesus gonna kick some "christian" ass come judgement day.

7. Gee I boycott lots of things. Every one has their rights to do it.

I really see no harm in what the far right do not like and so tells their people not to buy. I knew union guys that used to trash over seas cars in packing lots where they worked and that is going to far but the rest does not bother me at all. Does it work? Well Wal-mart came to town even if I do not shop in the store. 10 years ago I got rid of my big car and got a small one and I seem to have been the only person driving a small car on the road for about 8 years. So?
