Opinion: Media FIGHTS BACK Against Idiotic Bush Condemnation

After Bush's litlle spaz the other day on how the media only reports the bad news, and how that emboldens the enemy, etc. etc., I've noticed a shift in the media's response to covering the war.

They've given Bush the 'ol F**K You!

On ABC World News Tonight the last couple of nights, the tone was obviously "Where the hell IS the good news? There IS NONE!!" They continued to emphasize that Iraq is a dangerous place with MANY killings, murders, sectarian violence, and assasinations. They did do one or two clips of a school being built or whatever, but then quickly revert back to the TRUE situation - civil war. Hell, even I was surprised about how bad it REALLY is!!

Poor Bush. He tries to create hs own reality but cannot come to the realization that he is TOAST. His entire presidency literally depends on the outcome of this war. It's all he's got. And now, like everything else Bush has ever touched, it's gone to pot.

The media sees the reality on the ground, and despite Bush's childish temper tantrums and jumping up and down like a monkey, they're fighting back. You can't see roses through a pile of cow dung.

Sorry GW. You're history.

1. Mmm maybe but in the short term his legacy is the war

and in that I think he will get a pass on the lying, manipulation/fabrication of "intelligence" before the war but will be slammed for the complete lack of planning for after the military operations. Katrina will also be a damning part of his legacy.

In the long term I think that say 10 years from now people will feel free to come out of the shadows and question how they failed so horribly to prevent 9/11 from happening. To date it is still the one thing they can count on and the one thing the press will not touch...until they leave office.

It COULD happen, especially if the Dems get the House & Senate in 2006...

Likely no. Actually it is pretty much going to require that WE push the Dems to do it. Sad but that seems to be the case.

that the Dems are seemingly spineless right now in order to not rock the boat so that they can win the 2006 elections, take back the house and senate, and then REALLY let 'er rip with impeachment.

This national syndrome-- Bush-induced terrorism panic / fear disorder-- may not be as easy to treat or heal as even severe cases of agoraphobia. With agoraphobia, you can gradually expose the "patient" to reality. Our national media are so pathologically impaired, perpetuating the myth of terrorism danger that Bush and his allies promulgate, that it may not be possible to get the afflicted to actually see what is real. Bush, Cheney and the right wingers in congress do all they can to keep the drums of fear beating, the smoke and mirrors obstructing concrete views of reality. But like sunlight breaking through clouds, even the most aggressive media spin, echo chamber and propaganda campaigns can't hold back the truth.

So you're saying that first, we have to attack this fear that Bush/Cheney have driven into the people. You're right. Fear motivates people, and without this fear, they have nothing to go on.

What can we do then to help eliminate this fear?

6. That's the question!

I like to think it's happening as we speak. People are waking up due to Katrina and the ineptness of this admin, we'll have to take a wait a see attitude. If we have another terrorist attack in this country, i fear that the fear factor will rise again, and of course this admin wins if that happens.

We can only hope that enough people have opened their eyes, to the point that they want fall for the fear mongering again.

And it's up to us to spread the word to friends and family and anyone else who will listen, that fear is being used against them.

Once the people saw reality of a Bush-run America, it's been difficult for media to keep the Bushboy protected the way they used to.

got me. as far as i'm concerned fear is just part of life - something that must be handled as any human emotion. i'm not a writer, but i'll try to get this across. if a person allows an emotion, such as fear, to develop into unhealthy proportions he will become susceptible to manipulation. so, if this type of person can't get a grip himself (herself), it follows that he needs to accept someone in his life who will impact is thinking positively yet realistically. in an ideal world, our country's leadership and press could help this along. it's time for the democratic party to get behind a candidate who will help get the country well again. we've slipped back so far that i sometimes don't even recognize us.

5. Corporate media will fold, but there are hopeful signs, otherwise

There are many voices that I think will stand up, against the
Bush administration push for censorship. The push for sedition laws will be proposed by a handmaiden. My guess is O'Reilly. But, he may be too obvious. Krauthammer? Fred Barnes? WP editorial page? I am looking for where it will come from. Who will be assigned, to first broach the subject of sedition, or even martial, law? Look for a surprise. But it is now coming. The assignments have been handed out.

8. Without FOX, CNN, MSNBC, etc, the White House would be impotent....

in their propaganda efforts. It is parts of the media that are the propaganda arm of this Administration.
