Rush has lost it...
I know that the title of the topic is no surprise to many, however I try to avoid the man as much as possible so I don't get to see and hear what so many have said. However, as I said in another post, my boss is a big-time RW radio guy and we have to ride together during the day so he's listening and Rush goes into talking about the ports deal again as if it's current news. He then blames the Democrats for having it blocked and calls the Dems bigots and Xenophobes perpetuating a society of hate and bigotry toward the muslim world. I was stunned and the guy I was with said, "Is he still talking about that stupid ports deal?"
Apparently Rush forgot that the Repubs have 55 seats in the Senate to the Dems 45 and there was still enough votes to override a veto. So that means AT LEAST 20 of the 55 Rep. Senators were gonna vote against it. Those evil bastard Democrats!!

7. Rush is like Bush, he's in a bubble
and still doesn't realize that Bubba out there doesn't care about what "good business" the Dubai ports deal could have been. Bubba just knows that it would mean a bunch of A-Rabs guarding our ports.
DUers are surprised at the hypocrisy of the Dubai deal. On one hand, we're supposed to be scared shitless of the Arab world. They're going to kill us all if we don't embrace the neocon/Bushworld philosophy.
But, then again, we're supposed to shut up and mind our own business if the Bushies are cozying up to the Saudis "for our own good."
So. We're confused. (not really. We know what the real bottom line is - lining BFEE pockets).
But, Bubba is just mad.
And Rush and Bush/Rove/Cheney are just out of touch.

9. The rethugs have owned all three branches of govt for five years

and in those five years the country has maintained a steady downward spiral right into the crapper.

It amazes me how they can possibly argue that someone else or any other party is to blame.

13. Is there no way you can request that he stop politicizing your
"work space"? I mean, since you have to ride with him for your job, isn't there some sort of complaint that you could file that he is forcing his politial views on you during work hours?

I see this as a different situation than that where someone in an office plays a radio at their desk. I would assume in most cases you could play a radio at your own desk and listen to the station of your choice. But, being stuck in a car with no recourse to remove yourself from the offending media onslaught would seem to me to the the place to stop him from continueing the practice.

Perhaps you could ask him if a compromise could be reached where you get to select the station for x - hours a day or x- days a week. At least there might be more balance in that.

Otherwise, I would file a formal complaint.

Just my two cents.

last night. That woman will say anything to support GOP hypocrisy and evil deeds. But, I guess all the GOP talking heads have wigged out and jumped collectively into the abyss. Bill Frist blaming Democrats for the deficit was "priceless".

And welcome to DU, D_Master! :hi:

21. Somehow Republicans believe their harebrained schemes would work
if it weren't for the Democratic killjoys. It's a given for instance, that whole Iraq thing would have had spendid results had the critics just kept their mouths shut. Same with the ports deal -- it was a great plan, a flawless plan, sabotaged by the Dems who always have to find the dark lining in every silver cloud.

The Rush Repubs share the mentality of Wile E. Coyote who'd often do something really stupid like run off the edge of a cliff and actually be able to stride along for a few seconds, only plummeting to earth once he looked down and realized he was running on thin air. In their minds the only reason Bush keeps plummeting to earth is because of the naysayers who have the nerve to point out the obvious flaws in his various schemes.

22. Yeah ok Rush, it's not the invasion, or the torture,
or the occupation, or the 150,000 dead Iraqi's, or the fact that Coulter called them ragheads and said we should kill all their leaders, or the illegal incarcerations, it's the Democrats opposition to a ports deal that is making the Muslims think we are all bigots :eyes: Take another Oxy and shut the fuck up....
