3. i don't know, there was a thread for the east coasters and they said
it was talked about but i swear i watched the whole thing at 5:30 and there was nothing at all about it, we got the housing bubble or burst? story, the soldiers training for the war on TERRAH! and the hostage release.

2. What? Did I miss something? That's what I get for playing...
houseguy.

Seriously, was there something here about some link or was it dismissed before the news came on out here?

Thanks

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=2183946&mesg_id=2184173

so i'm wondering if abc news had this debunked by the time our broadcast came on?

5. This abc story online
Has been around now for a week, at least. That link that you posted is the same story I linked to on 3/20 but now, it has today's date.

Here's a post I made on another board about it on 3/20/06.

http://discussions.pbs.org/viewtopic.pbs?topic_view=threads&p=362520&t=51036

Also, someone here on DU posted about it on the 19th, with the same abc link.

6. Did this air in Eastern or Central?
The report sounded pretty shaky.

I doubt ABC would go national with that without some serious reinforcement.

And thank you for sending that to me. I have been home most of the day and simply missed it.

10. It wasn't aired on TV
Seems it's just from their online news.

Kinda makes ya wonder, if it's so important, why not air it on nightly news?

Maybe they did, I don't know.

13. From memory
I can not tell. A lot of it reads as I remember, nothing new, except, maybe the editor's note on "Osama bin Laden Contact With Iraq" -- some of that seems more detailed then I recall. Sorry --can't be more helpful.

What makes me further suspicious of this is this article:

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,18528453%255E2703,00.html

The documents have been posted on the internet as part of a rolling program by the US Government to make public the contents of 48,000 boxes of untranslated papers and tapes relating to the workings of Saddam Hussein's regime. Saddam is said to have routinely taped talks with cabinet members and intelligence chiefs.

US director of national intelligence John Negroponte was ordered by President George W. Bush to release the material. Hundreds of thousands of previously unseen documents and hundreds of hours of tapes will be placed on the web in the coming weeks.

15. More corporate media coverage of the tapes
More on the tapes:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11299205/site/newsweek

Quote:
Feb. 20, 2006 issue - Government investigators are trying to determine how 12 hours of tape recordings of Saddam Hussein and his aides, acquired by U.S. personnel in Iraq, got into the hands of the organizers of a private "intelligence summit" to be held in D.C. next weekend. John Loftus, a former government prosecutor and self-described whistle-blower, claims the tapes "will be able to provide a few definitive answers to some very important—and controversial—weapons-of-mass-destruction questions." At one point Saddam muses how vulnerable D.C. would be to a "biological" attack, but adds that Iraq wouldn't do it.

House Intelligence Committee chairman Pete Hoekstra is reviewing transcripts to determine if U.S. officials missed WMD evidence after the war. But intel agencies are skeptical.

The tapes were taken without permission from an FBI-run translation center, officials say, and are years old. Two government officials, requesting anonymity because of the sensitive subject, say the tapes in no way prove that WMD stockpiles or programs existed at the time of the U.S. invasion or were moved to another country before U.S. troops arrived.

12. Why do I .......
get this suspicion in my gut telling me ...... because this 'evidence' is so shaky ... that it's being thrown out there Now just to 'push' the american 'sheep' back into the fold of .... "well they may have been right on Iraq after all .... go ahead we're behind you on Iran" .... F....K! Problem being .... the sheep have an attention span of like 5 seconds. :eyes: Peace.
