2. Good Luck!
They've lined their pockets so full with the money from the bogus contracts, there IS no money. What I'd like to see it these guys to get their worthless asses out of the way and let people in that would take care of it for less.

Halliburton and Bechtel don't even need to compete for most contracts anymore. They're slid to them through the administration and through other channels. It's sickening !

3. I'm glad you brought that up ~ they've stolen billions in this war alone
Congress knows it, yet no one is doing anything about it. They should live the rest of their miserable lives in poverty. Every one of them, Cheney, Rumsfeld, the Bushes too many to mention, all should have their accounts frozen while it all gets sorted out.

Holocaust survivors are suing the Bush family to get back the money they made while supporting the Nazi war machine ~ maybe the people of the US could file class action suits against all of them ~

6. Hah! Don't hold your breath.
Yet another point the Democrats should be HAMMERING home relentlessly & non-stop every day. Undocumented cash distribution in Iraq (some in suitcases!) under Bremer's Proconsulship, Halliburton's no-bid contracts, ripoff accounting and total squandering of our tax money, the Pentagon's obscene Iraq/Afghanistan budget (I'm sure there are plenty of $400 screwdrivers & hammers in there), etc. etc. etc. And still our boys/girls dpn't have proper body armor & equipment! Yet there is DEAFENING SILENCE from the Democrats.

8. Yes, trillions in "undocumentable adjustments"
(from http://www.whereisthemoney.org/numbers.html):

The largest agency, the Department of Defense, has failed to comply with the requirement for audited financial statements since the requirement went into effect in the mid-1990's and has reported significant unsupported adjustments* to balance its books. In fiscal 1999, DOD reported $2.3 trillion of undocumentable adjustments* to balance its books. In fiscal 2000, DOD reported $1.1 trillion of undocumentable adjustments to balance its books. For fiscal 2001, DOD declined to report the amount of undocumentable adjustments used to balance its books.

* "Unsupported accounting entries" are the adjustments made in accounting records to force the books to balance when they don't add up, for example when:
1. an operation is negligent in tracking down and fixing imbalances in their accounts;
2. money and assets are missing, stolen or being spent in violation of the law;
3. government securities and guarantees are being issued fraudulently or secretly.

In other words, an "unsupported adjustment" is a plug figure for cash and assets that are unaccounted for and/or disbursed unlawfully, with no supporting records or audit trail.

21. From Donald Rumsfeld himself - CBS News 'War on Waste'
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 01:39 PM by EVDebs
www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/29/eveningnews/main325985.shtml

""According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.

$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.

"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service. ""

What pisses me off is the DOD's OIG is busy investigating whistleblowers who are trying to find out WHO took this money instead of nipping it in the bud to begin with ! Chuch Spinney was on Bill Moyers a few years ago speaking out on this and regularly was ignored at DOD. Folks, this is about 1/10th of a years GDP "missing" !

9. Maybe we could then pay TEACHERS an honorable wage!
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 04:22 AM by ClayZ
Since teaching is the most honorable profession. They should be paid accordingly!

They could then teach all the children of this country to be honorable citizens!

Perhaps Cheney... bu$h.... condisleesa and D Rummy would have been put in centers for juvenile delinquents, had they good teachers!

15. Our Teacher Retirement fund
lost alot to Enron. They have now raised the retirement age and have done lots of tweaking. It will be hard on new teacher, if we can recruit them. I am sure our modest health care benefits will be next on the chopping block. If we sue them to get the money-only the lawyers will benefit. I suggest any business leaders, Congressman or any politician guilty of corruption have their assets and pensions seized, just like they do for drug dealers. Money from those assets should be distributed to those that we hurt buy their action. Pension funds should be the first creditor in line for payment in the event of a bankruptcy.

22. It infruiates me that these sleeezebages still get a PENSION.
They are dividing Randy "Duke" Cunningham Treasure Chest between FBI and IRS? But he still gets his pension. This is BS! We need to show them the real GOOD vs EVIL. Where is Robin Hood, when you need him?

Every family affected in Iraq should be able to Sue. All the children in the US, who have had school funds cut should sue. All the US soldiers should SUE. We should all Sue for stress and mental abuse. It has made me near crazy to have had to watch these idiots for 6 years.

18. Great image! Wealthiest superpower in the world and we can't afford
squat. All our money goes to those people keeping us safe, the same ones that have been such dismal failures at it - and no, I'm not talking about the troops, I'm talking about the privatized war industry.

11. And a couple of pounds of flesh for good measure.
Seriously! The oil companies and those that control them have had it coming for a long time. We should seize all their assets public and private. Then take a look at every deal made by this administration and if it looks like a ripoff take it back and jail everyone involved for fraud, embezzlement, racketeering or whatever. I don't care what law they have to pass to do it. We need to teach them a lesson they never forget.
And while we're at it we need to clean house at the Supreme Court.

12. We can all file lawsuits against..
.. local, state and federal governments. I wouldn't yield anything, but would at least fill up dockets and get us noticed.

I'm at a loss for what we can do. I was in a grocery last week that has a gas station in the parking lot. When I went in the grocery the price on the station's sign was 2.39 and when I came out it was 2.51. WTF?

My county taxes went up 20+ %, gas heating bill still hovers around $400./mo. and not I'm hearing that electric this summer will follow suit.

The problem is, no political fat-cat gives a shit. They are so far removed from the average American in pay, that they have no idea about our day to day struggles.

I've emailed and called every representative in my state to see what they're gonna do about it and nothing... no returned calls or emails.

We have to hold these people accountable. Honestly, credit cards or not, 3% increases at work or not.. I have no idea how I (who does pretty good for myself, BTW) will make it for the next 3.5 years (or even beyond) at the rate and direction this country is headed.

Honestly, in '99, I never thought that things would turn out this way.

needs to know WHO benefitted from this war because i sure as hell dont know anyone..my God, it would be impossible to spend all of the money they've stolen so i bet a lot of it is stashed....everyday i read somethig about this and shake my head wondering how much money do they need? they just keep laughing at us for being so stupid while they continue to pilfer..just because they have it and continue to get it doesnt mean they should be able to keep it...

16. I totally agree.
I'm still more disappointed in the American people than anything else. Shit, even I knew what Bush was going to do. My 80 year old father turned to my mother on the morning Bush was sworn in and said, here comes the war. The people had a major turning point decision to make in 2004. A complete and utter failure that the world noticed. He actually got back in office. That was the worst thing that has ever happened in America.

I totally agree. But we're in quicksand. We can't even get a censure. What shit.
