Lobbyist Abramoff gets subpoenaed in Boulis murder case

By Jon Burstein
South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Posted March 24 2006

Fallen super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff and his former business partner soon will be subpoenaed by defense attorneys to give sworn statements in the Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis murder case.

The attorney for murder suspect Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello filed paperwork this week asking to question Abramoff and Long Island businessman Adam Kidan about the SunCruz Casino founder's gangland-style slaying. Broward Circuit Judge Michael Kaplan granted the request Thursday after prosecutors agreed to it.

Prosecutor Brian Cavanagh said the Broward State Attorney's Office had been concerned about subpoenaing Kidan and Abramoff because it didn't want to give them any form of immunity. Kidan has not been eliminated as a suspect in the murder case, Cavanagh said.

16. The accused killers had a "catering" contract!
I had a link to their pictures at one point, can't find it -- but based on appearance, these three would not be typical caterers. No no no. !!!

EXCERPT

By November 2000, Kidan had contacted an old friend, Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello. Moscatiello had signed a contract with SunCruz to be a "catering consultant" at $25,000 a month, according to court records. Kidan said he thought Boulis was going to kill him, according to statements Moscatiello gave police. Moscatiello, a known associate of the late crime boss John Gotti, promised to smooth things over.

{from another story: Boulis was shot to death in February 2001}

Moscatiello put Kidan in touch with Anthony "Little Tony" Ferrari, who ran "Moon Over Miami Beach," a company that, among other things, is described in records as a security firm. One of the men who worked for Ferrari was James "Pudgy" Fiorillo. In September, Moscatiello, Ferrari and Fiorillo were indicted in Boulis' murder. Kidan has not been charged in the case.

After being arrested, Moscatiello told detectives that Fiorillo traveled to his Queens home two weeks after the murder and confided that Kidan reportedly told Ferrari to kill Boulis, according to court records. Moscatiello said Fiorillo also indicated that he and Ferrari carried out the hit, the documents show. Moscatiello told detectives, "I told Adam what had happened, what I was told and he told me he never made no phone call and after Tony Ferrari told me it was a lie, I never discussed it anymore with Adam."

10. It appears he won't rat out the repukes.
In that Vanity Fair article he stated that he didn't want to release the photos with Bush because the Democrats :eyes: would use them against his party.

11. Remember this telling comment by repuke strategist Ed Rogers on Hardball:
MATTHEWS: And what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

ROGERS: Sure. Look, this is going to come out. Nobody is going to keep it a secret. Jack Abramoff is so radioactive—I've got Jack Abramoff fatigue already. I mean, good grief, he didn't kill anybody. Maybe that one guy in Florida.

MATTHEWS: The perfect time to get that fatigue, as the smell heads towards the White House.

13. They are so incredibly dismissive of murder, those Republicans
'maybe that one guy in Florida' ~ just one more dead body for the cause ~ so he 'he didn't kill anybody, for goodness sakes' ~ because you're not a person, if you are not one of them!

Imo, it is that attitude that makes them so dangerous. You cannot move them by pointing out all those who might die, should they start a war, they don't care.

Kidan and Abramoff hired those guys after the death of Boulis ~ and Abramoff was so close to so many Republicans, like Tom Delay! A few people died suspiciously in Sugar Land, Texas also, Tom Delay's district. The woman who accused Bush of rape, eg. Also, the Enron executive , both supposedly committed suicide. But the press stayed far away from those stories.

The article says that Moscatiello's attorney, David Bogenschutz, wrote in court papers that he needed to question the two men because "the SunCruz Casino sale is at the heart" of the murder case.

Seems like the hitmen are talking ~ and from what the prosecutor says, Kidan may yet be indicted for the murder 'not in place of these suspects, but in addition to them'.

To think that these were the people Republicans were falling all over themselves for, to be around, to be seen with. What kind of judgement do they have, even if they weren't directly involved with them? This country is in big trouble ~
