Why didn't the US media care about this case? Afghan woman stoned to death

A woman has been stoned to death in Afghanistan, reportedly for committing adultery.

The killing is said to have taken place in the Urgu district of north-eastern Badakhshan province.

A local Afghan government official confirmed the death, and said the government would investigate the case.

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission said the woman had been sentenced to death by a decree from the local religious scholar.

This poor woman had no support speaking out for her, and the media isn't going to tell one personal and tragic story in Afghanistan if it doesn't help the ratings, and is sure to bring out the wingnuts demaning that ever-rare commodity, "good war news."

We already invaded Afghanistan.

I had a skeptical view of the invasion, since the links between 9/11 & Osama & the Afghan government had not been proven 100%. But I knew the country had some serious problems & hoped we might improve it. Too bad about that.

AND YET, poor persecuted christians have their panties in a twist because Afghanistan is going to execute a dude for being christian. Freedom of religion trumps freedom to love whoever you want, both there and here.

It's a wonder these people can function at all.
