Why Does Everyone Misspell the Word 'Moron'?

Although this is the incorrect spelling of the word Moron, it is a tradition amongst many DU members to intentionally spell it this way. The term "Moran" originated from this photo (below) of a pro-war activist (a "Freeper") during the run-up to the invasion of Iraq.

In the early days of the anti-war protests, there was a very small pro-war protest somewhere, I think in Missouri, where a bunch of freepers and nazis(literally) had pro war signs, one sign said "get a brain, moran!" and thus history.
