READ MORE: George W. Bush

President Bush, trying to regain his political footing ahead of this year's critical midterm elections, asserted Friday "the difference is clear" between the two parties on how to sustain the U.S. economic recovery.

"If you want the goverment in your pocket vote Democrat," Bush said. "If you want to keep more of your hard earned money vote Republican."

and if you want your country to go into debt for the next millenium, vote republican...

8. take a look at the stock market, and try to feed me that BS, too.
I saw a chart that showed, under Bush the stock market's value is in minus territory, under Clinton, it was plus 19%, the highest EVER. Republicans are blithering idiots, apparently, who can't see who is REALLY good for their bottom line.

cost of a wide swathe of goods and services...

People know. They may be dullards, some of them, but they see how much is coming in, and how much is going out of their household budgets under BushCo.

Heating bills alone have crippled many!

I had always heard that the stock market and the economy generally fares better under the Democrats, but saw a chart that proves it. Republicans are greedy assholes that care nothing about anything but MONEY. They can act all fucking pious about morals, but they ignore Jesus' feelings about helping the poor, when they worship the almighty God of money.

21. And here's what you can do with your hard-earned money
Put it toward new tires and shocks on your car, because the roads aren't in good repair.

Buy a home security system, because the cops are so badly underfunded, they don't come out to investigate house break-ins.

Hire a tutor for your kids, because they aren't learning much in a classroom with 45 other kids.

Get yourself a lab to test your food, because the FDA doesn't have the resources to make sure your food is wholesome and healthy.

Stock up on air filters and breathing masks because the air isn't fit for human consumption.

Boost your donations to the local food bank and homeless shelters, because demand is going through the roof.

That's what you want to spend your hard-earned money on, isn't it? And isn't it laughable to hear the phrase "hard earned" from Chimpy McCokespoon, the spoiled frat boy?

26. I give up if they fall for that again
with lower federal taxes, the states no longer receive as much money back . we've seen state and local taxes raised to make up the difference. i guess they don't think we've noticed all kinds of extra federal taxes popping up on say, our phone bill.. they are taxing us for what they want to fund - they're merely using a different route. but we all know that they aren't bothering to find a way to help with medical insurance, and needed social programs.

35. It is, indeed, all about the money.
They have successfully co-opted a number of hot button emotional issues like war, terrorism, gay marriage, drugs, abortion and turned them into Republican talking points. Anyone with half a brain can see that each and every one of those problems are solved more efficiently by a Democratic leadership. Nevertheless, people vote for "tax relief" above all other. The other crap is just window dressing to make them feel less guilty about being greedy.

than the one I inhabit now. He was the first person to voice out loud to me back in early 2001 the fact that our election of 2000 was stolen, and that Dumbya was "selected" rather than elected. Everyone else in our republican dominated company rejoiced in the fact that a fine, upstanding moral family man could finally take over the White House.:puke: He was one of the few people with whom I could talk about what I perceived to be the truth of the events of 9/11, i.e., that what I SAW on TV that day was two controlled demolitions, and not two spontaneous collapses. "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?" Now that I have relocated to another city and another job, I really miss our political discussions. Melvin, if you're out there reading DU, HI and take care, my friend. :toast:

Just as the cost of Vietnam buckled the knees of America's economy in the '70s and early '80s, we will (already are, in fact) suffer crippling setbacks in the years ahead because of the exorbitant expense of the PNAC wehrmacht.
