IRAQ views bad - media fault???? we can turn the tables on this one
ok - we can reframe this

bush contends that the reason people think Iraq is such a mess is because of "media hype"

this implies that things are really better than we think in Iraq and all the "good news" is not being reported

ok - so things are really great in Iraq - great wonderful hip-hip-hooray

I suggest that bush put on his fly-boy costume, land on an aircraft carrier, declare "VICTORY IN IRAQ" and bring our troops home!!!!

so get your pens and paper out -- write some letters to your senator/representative and call on them to have bush declare victory is things are just peachy-fine-ok-happy-happy in Iraq

1. Maraya1969 had a GREAT frame to counteract the damage
the media is supposedly doing. Blame it on the positive spin this admin is putting out there, enraging the insurgents. Makes sense to me!

Has anyone questioned whether * constant rallying about how good

things are in Iraq "emboldens the enemies".

Just think about New Orleans and how furious the forgotten evacuees must have been when they heard: "You're doing a heck of a job Brownie" after they spent almost a week in filth beyond imagine with no food or water and knowing that relatives were missing or dead. * approval rating among Blacks dropped to 1%.

Did anyone ever think that the insurgents want to blow up the next American soldier they see after watching * on the TV saying how wonderful Iraq is doing but it is going to take a long time to "create democracy" because democracies "don't war"?

Do any of you lurking freepers think that maybe your cheer-leading for this war makes the insurgents want to HURT our soldiers? Especially when a lot of them are nationalists who are just fighting back at a county that has barged in and is trying to occupy THEIR country? And you are just happy as a clam to throw them back into a place where people are willing to kill themselves just to kill an American.

I was furious when I found out they could wire tap my phone with no warrant and no good reason. If a bunch of people broke into my house and held guns in my kids faces I think I might just strap on a gun and fight back. And all my neighbors who have been subject to the same terrifying and demeaning ordeal would be out with guns also and I can easily see how, through fear, anger and confusion we would end up shooting each other while trying to figure out who the real enemy is.

Good God bring our soldiers home and send food, water and medicine back. Maybe they might calm down a little if WE go away!

3. If everything's great, why doesn't Bush visit?
You know, take the walking tour like he did in Mississppi and New Orleans where they staged work and activity to make it look like something was happening to help people.

I'm sure there's a Potemkin village out there in Iraq where everyone is friendly. . . .
