Don't get caught being drunk in a bar in Texas.
the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission are sending undercover agents into bars to arrest drinkers for being drunk.

And you wonder how we got into Iraq. Red state logic.

10. What do they think bars serve most people ?
If you cant solve a "crime" you make some "criminals".

The coffers must be getting dry in Texas :)

19. It IS something new, at least so it says in the posted article
.
.
.

"The first sting operation was conducted recently in a Dallas suburb where agents infiltrated 36 bars and arrested 30 people for public intoxication, said the commission's Carolyn Beck."

AND

it was in 36 different bars.

This will be good for business in Private Clubs for members only . . .

hmmmmmm

Wonder if the PNACers have a vested interest in Private Club ownership?

Wouldn't surprise me one little bit.

20. You're misinformed and judgmental
They're not being arrested because they're drunk, but they are being arrested in bars.

Basically, any person drinking in a bar in Texas can be arrested. All it takes is the officer deciding you need to be arrested that night.

You're the person adopting the Freeper attitude, not the person you are attributing that conduct to.

It's a law that allows any police officer to arrest any patron of any bar any time, and yes, it is fascist in application.

You can bet they know which bars the DA's office
frequents.

11. The Doctrine of Preemption is outta control!!
the one thing that gets me is the story about the woman who was arrested at a hotel bar that was staying the night there.

if the whole purpose was to keep drunk drivers off the road, then why are they arresting people who have to walk 5 doors down to a hotel room? What next.....are they going to start coming to people's houses and checking BACs?

What the hell is wrong with Texas?
I think they need W back to manage things...
:sarcasm:
No wonder some of our greatest liberals come from Texas. Their fact based brains go new-cue-lurr over the rampant insanity and zealotry.
