2. "We are not showing the pictures of the twenty five hundred bodies
coming back because they won't let us show the pictures." It's the truth, but I can't believe he actually said it. Hell is now freezing over.

Is Tweety just now waking up from a five year nap? Is he just now realizing the dishonesty of the Bush administration?

4. Matthews kicks ass! I can hardly believe it's him, though I'm not one
who continually picks on him here. He's great.

RECOMMENDED!

21. When Chris used to write a newspaper column
He would be the same way. He would question the administration, he would write about his frustration about the administration and the build up to war. Then I would tune into his show and he would do a 180 and I couldn't understand it. It was almost like he had a split personality.

I don't think he writes a column anymore.

30. I think you're on to something. His 180's leave me reeling
in disbelief. I find it hard to figure whether he has any real convictions or not. At first I listened because he showed "sincere" doubt about the Iraqi invasion---but since then he has done so many flips that I can only wonder about his sanity. It is probably kinder to say he has a split personality than accuse him of being the total whore that he appears.

22. Yes, when he first mentioned that the Pres
and the administration used the culture, country music, etc. to lead us into Iraq, his voice was shaking. Could he have been so foolish to actually believe all of this for 3 years, or did he finally throw off the shackles of his corporate masters, and that is why his voice is shaking?? What kind of fear makes your voice shake like that?

23. I think he believed Bush initially. Good point WHY was his voice shaking?
It's fear or anger. I didn't get a fear vibe.

10. he is a typical M$MW
he knows which way the wind is blowing, that is all.

the shouting matches on cable 'news' is nothing but over the top emotional propaganda.

DU'ers don't tolerate BS very well and why it is so valuable to many.

peace

11. Did you listen?
I think MSNBC keeps him in line, and/or he tries to be "fair" but he's genuinely pissed off now. I don't think he'll be as candid on his show as he was on Imus, but I'll watch him just in case. ;)

12. yes... maybe i am the only one who caught it but
when he said that BS line about he "being the only one who caught the lie about bush never equating iraq with 911" is typical rw talk show hosts, they never get their facts straight and its all about them.

the question that got that reply was helen thomas pointing out that very fact, they lied us into war on that point and all the others.

i only watch the clips on the internet because i refuse to pay for lies but i am grateful for all who do and keep us posted on their talking points and fuck ups.

:hi:

peace

24. I'm wondering if he is expressing frustration with the media in that
statement? He may be comparing himself to coverage after the speech on CNN, ABC?

Whatever the reason - I'm glad he's waking up. I hope he'll continue to speak out.

Peace backatcha BP. :hi:

6. One gets the feeling..
... that the ever-attuned Tweety has decided that his bread is buttered on the other side now. Like Cafferty, and perhaps a smattering of others.

At least with Cafferty, one gets the feeling he really means it :)

13. This war would already be over if...

...the American people had gotten a nightly dose of bloody footage showing the tens of thousands of innocent women, children, and elderly that were mutilated and burned to death by our weapons.

Hey Bu$h -- You don't believe in abortion? Well what the fuck do you call killing pregnant women???!!!

Sheesh!

14. Every so often Tweety acts like he's got some common sense...
it only lasts for a little while, then he's back on Hardball gushing over bush, being shocked at how many people who don't like him and bashes dems.

Don't believe it. Tweety does it for ratings.

comprised the last half of his appearance, during which Imus called Gore the "devil"

I posted on the bit about his praising himself about being the "only one" who caught the lie about 911/Saddam; truly pathetic

do NOT ever pay attention to this narcissist

18. Yes, Tweety is a dickweed, but...
...he's a dickweed that people listen to. If he joins the "these guys are corrupt incompetent liars" chorus, he will be a powerful voice in that chorus.

It's perfectly rational for us to not like him but to like what he's saying. I hope he keeps this up for his sunday show.

26. Nominated.
Chris Matthews has provided the most accurate and insightful information on the Plame scandal to be found anywhere in the corporate media. He recognizes that VP Cheney presents a serious threat to our constitutional democracy. Thus, he continues to focus reports that are helpful to the growing effort to get congress to impeach Cheney. He believes that our country would suffer serious damage if the president were likewise politically knee-capped; while I disagree with him on that, I do appreciate his and especially David Schuster's reporting.
