CNN: International Living - Seems more Americans are moving abroad

About to discuss difficulties and rules when considering moving abroad (focusing on Mexico...saying it's illegal to actually own land within 50m of the ocean but there are ways around it.)

1. I think the numbers would be even larger if................

....there was a way to transfer things like "SS Disability", "SSI", "SS", etc abroad.

I've heard people say recently, "If I could transfer my ....... over seas I'd get out of here, while the getting is good."

In other words it might just be the sick and infirm who are left when this is all over.

2. I can't say I blame them

I've been trying to find a foreign country myself. I mean, one that doesn't seem too difficult to get into.

3. I've seriously considered it. I've narrowed my options down to...

Canada (Vancouver or Toronto) but not sure if that's far enough away ;)

Belgium (areas east of Brussels). Plenty of people speak English there until I could learn Dutch. :)
