no more pussilanimous hand-wringing over "America can do better" or some other crap thought up by overpaid and over-stayed political consultants, hit the pigs where it hurts the most.

3. Absolutely we need a slogan, and a catchy one.

I think we also need a song! I'm old, so I remember when the candidates had songs to associate with their campaign. (I was little then!)

If it's a catchy tune, you find it wandering through your head during the day, even when your not thinking about it. You know, the kind of tune you quietly hum while strolling through the mall, or working at your computer.

I think that would be a GREAT idea, een if it is an old one!

I've been thinking about this frame, too, and you made me write it down.

I think a basic tenet in sloganeering is probably to say something that the reader can't argue about, or answer "no" to.

For instance, I train our retail employees to ask, when a customer comes in, not "May I help you?", but rather "Let me know if I can answer any questions."

The answer to the first question, at least for me as a customer, "No".

When we ask the "Let me know" question, the customer nearly always says something like "Oh, do you have anything with a Rat Terrier (or whatever) on it"?

So, with regard to the Republicans vis-a-vis Iraq slogan, I hear an inner voice saying "Lost? We didn't lose anything. The Iraqis lost it for us." or something like that.

But I don't think anybody can deny that we've destroyed Iraq. :((((((((
