Check Out The Freepers Freakin' Over * (immigration)
They are finally figuring out he serves only big biz and not their sorry asses. DUUUUUH! Amusing in a pathetic way.

They don't like that he says "jobs Americans won't do." LOL!! Hey Freeps, when all your jobs are outsourced or given over to immigrant labor, you can always join the Army and help your master's War On Terra!

"To: NormsRevenge

I know I will get flamed for saying this, but Bush is a horrible President. His legacy will be an awful one, and his presidency will be remembered as a failure. Now, that being said, I realize that he gets blamed for alot of things that are not his fault, and he is fighting an uphill battle against the media everyday. I understand that. However, this issue in particular is one that he can control. He has the power to do so. Instead of doing what the vast majority of American citizens want done, however, he is selling out to business interests, something I thought the Republican Party had put behind them. Apparently they have not. If he truly does support an amnesty plan, then he should have the guts to come out and say so, rather than giving us all this double speak.

I don't care what Bush, the GOP leadership, or the Chamber of Commerce thinks. Any plan in the style of McCain/Kennedy is amnesty, plain and simple. If the platform of this President, and this party, is to to cater to business interests even when they conflict with the will of the people, then everybody needs to rethink their party loyalty and/or affiliation."

Even freepers wake up that the republican party is not for them.

Ayn Rand has risen from the grave!!!
One of the things about the illegal issue that makes me angry is the "doing the jobs..." mantra.

It is obvious that Bush, a Harvard Business MBA graduate, hasn't a clue as to how the free market should operate.

Employers should be forced to automate, adapt, consolidate, raise wages, or die, and the federal welfare, tax, and regulatory nightmare should be completely dismantled. There would be no need for a guest-worker program, as Americans (this means you, Hurricane Katrina "victims") would take these jobs or else starve.

To say that Americans "won't do the jobs..." is elitism and snobbery one would expect from limosuine liberals, much less from a moderate U.S. President.

12. I found that comment disgusting---
if American's "won't do the jobs", no one should have to, imo. What a tacky, disgusting, elitist thing to say!

Last time I checked, there wasn't a big demand for oranges bought by the freeway, or towels, or flowers or any of the other things I've seen immigrants do to try to earn some money for their families.

Illegal immigrants want the ability to stay here and not return to their countries, so unfortunately they don't see how hideous such statements, and ideas are. At least it doesn't seem that they do... :(

66. My best girlfriends husband can't get work because illegals and the
companies who have hired them have totally cornered the market around here for construction. He went from being a respected and skilled tradesman making a modestly decent living in support of his wife and kids to a guy who now is lucky to find any work at all. When he does find work he's forced to do it for what amounts to about 3 or 4 dollars an hour or even less. He's now suffering from ulcers and a sleep disorder. Think this is happening just on the border states? Think again. I live in Nebraska.

I get so sick of the people who WON'T see that illegal immigration is costing good American workers and their families their livelihoods and their dignity.

68. I agree with you 100%.
People think that this issue won't touch then, that they are secure in their jobs, that they will never lose that job and have to get out their and compete in what I can only call a savage dog-eat-dog labor market, but it just may.

This out of control immigration problem is a collosal failure of the Democratic party. The Democratic party, whatever else it respresents, does not represent the interests of the working American. That's the truth.

----Gee, he talks like a man pretending he still has political capital.----
Remember when George said, right after his re-election, that he intended to spend his political capital?

Well, he's certainly done that.

He spent it by telling us that we were sexists for opposing the Miers nomination, racists for opposing the ports deal, and, as a people, just plain lazy slobs who are leaving him no choice but to reward illegal immigration.

Now he's intent on deficit-spending.

The more I think about it, my calendar's going to be awfully busy the first week of November....

5. Here's a fine one
As we debate the immigration issue, we must remember there are hardworking individuals, doing jobs that Americans will not do, who are contributing to the economic vitality of our country," Bush said in his weekly radio address.
It's absolute BS!

Here's what it's all about:

1. Supply cheap labor to business owners who tend to be big GOP donors.
2. Charm illegals with the hope that they will someday vote Republican.

So illegal immigration serves two basic needs of politicians:

1. Donations for their war chests for future campaigns.
2. Buy votes for their future viability as politicians.

Meanwhile those of who don't employ illegals get screwed for health care, education, insurance, and incarceration for these illegals.

Cheap lettuce and lawn care is just not worth it!

Americans are more highly trained! It is not that there are 10 jobs for Americans. There are 10 jobs period.

10 American IT graduates do not want 10 janitor jobs!

But if those 10 janitors are in the US making money, they increase the market for other things and that leads to jobs for the 10 IT grads.

Edited on Sat Mar-25-06 11:18 PM by Swamp Rat
The Cato Institute claims to be a conservative/libertarian think tank, yet they are really corporatists, bankrolled by the Sarah Scaife, Lambe and Koch Foundations. The Cato Institute has ties to the media moguls like Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News, the New York Post, Harper Collins publishers and Twentieth Century Fox and has helped promote guest worker proposals. Treating it as if is a fact, they have asserted that industries like meatpacking and tourism face a tremendous labor shortage, rather than a corporate unwillingness to pay higher wages to attract workers.

How long will freeptards take being lied to by the people they put in power? ... and it ain't just a blowjob. :eyes:

I'm having the same issues antaresequity. It's almost like the Pubs are trying to get the Dems elected and it's p*ssing me off.

I have 3 donation letters to send back and they will go empty of $$ with a note why.

Why is it that George W. Bush, given the choice of siding with conservative middle class America, seems to ALWAYS choose to side with non-Americans and foreign controlled interests?

You're answering your own question: he's just another grasping, power-crazed professional politician.

Because he is Rhino piece of crap politician just like all of the crap in Washington...

Bush is worthless and is going to cave on this and whore himself like every politician before him.

GW Bush is not a man of principal...and he is certainly not a man who can be trusted with the security of our borders and the constitution...

Bend over...your about to get 'porked'...

The avalanche of support that has followed Republicans since 1994 we now see slowly evaporating over the issue of a guest-worker program. Impassioned Republicans four years ago now stand out of steam, feeling betrayed by a party leadership that would support a bill so at odds with conservative principles.

Bingo! I'm fed up with our spineless party. The GOP logo should be that of a jellyfish.

59. I cannot distinguish many of these comments from DU.
They seem just as critical of the chimp as we are. And they have some new names for him, like in this post:

If the Rinos vote for guest worker amnesty, the let the 'rats win! Let them drive out the stupid Rinos, and let them impeach Presidente Jorge Arbusto, El Estupidissimo!

49. Absolutely amazing...the dead have arisen!
I just read the entire thread, and some of them sounded almost like Democrats! So this means they CAN think if they really have to? Just as I always suspected: They can, but most of the time they just don't want to.

52. Freepers have been bashing Bush
since the ports issue at least. It really makes me wonder where these elusive 33% are who still support Bush.

54. I think it's the Christian RW Fundamentalists.
Ya know, Bush may be flawed, but he's a born-again Christian, so even if he is a complete failure as a president, he's forgiven.

55. This is the ONLY point I agree with regarding immigration. Why
not have a check point that is safe, controlled and accessible for day labor from Mexico? After the days work, the immigrants are brought back to the check point to still live in their home country? But the point is, make it safe, stop exploiting people that want a better way of life or some money to eat. American's are so calloused and heartless when it comes to poverty. If we had a day labor law for immigrants then the corporations would have to pay them at LEAST minimum wage, unless there was a change in the law regarding immigrant day labor workers. Workers could be requested to work months at a time, however, at the end of 30 days, they must cross back over the boarder to Mexico and go through the process again. But shooting these HUMANS that are desperate as sport and being HEARTLESS about their predicament shows me the disgust of American's being just like the neocon's. It's all about them 100% of the time.

58. What does this mean for *'s poll numbers?
My God. If Freepers, usually mindless Bushbots, feel this way, who is left to support the miserable failure?

I look for poll numbers in the mid 20s very soon.

65. * pissing off both sides simultaneously
* pissing off the racist "Minutemen" with his guest worker program and pissing off the immigration community with talks of stricter immigration enforcement. * just can't win on any level!
