Colbert & Bears
That thing he has against bears cracks me up. Which leads me to a small request: I'm looking for a flash picture of a snarling bear. I tried googling every combination of words I could think of, no luck. Is there a website, or a search engine, just for flash pictures? It's a long story - but I must find that bear.

1. Do you mean a movie?
A "flash picture" could be a still.

4. Which brings up the question, "Why does he call O'Reilly 'Papa Bear'?"
if he doesn't like bears? Is this a subliminal snipe at O'Reilly?

I know, totally off topic and no help in your quest for bear video.

6. I found this
Overall, the routine of the character Colbert assumes in the show is centered on egomania and reducing complex world affairs into ludicrously simplified sound bites or arbitrary conclusions, to humorous effect. At various points, the character has also claimed to be close friends with Scarborough and has affectionately referred to Bill O'Reilly as "Papa Bear".

8. Calling anyone "Papa Bear" is just a little bit creepy
With Colbert, it works to his advantage.

But remember, "Colbert" is a French name.

9. That article also points out the subtle meaning of "Papa Bear" & O'Really
From the source you found:

To a large extent, Colbert's show and the character that he created are based on the O'Reilly Factor, by Bill O'Reilly. Colbert frequently refers to O'Reilly as his mentor and calls him "Papa Bear" in an endearing manner — a nickname with a subtle double-meaning, as Colbert constantly states that he considers bears to be the #1 threat to America today. Colbert makes no secret of his spoofing O'Reilly: upon hearing the news that O'Reilly said he likes The Colbert Report, Stephen declared on-air that "I like you too. In fact, if it wasn't for you, this show wouldn't exist."

So I'm not the only one who thinks the "papa bear" moniker has a double meaning.

7. I loved it this week when he was putting his director through the hoops
and when the director had enough, he fed in film of a grizzly! I love this show!

BTW...I think that the Word segment must be one of the most brilliant ideas ever used on tv.

11. Stephen is a freaky genius.
I love his humor so much.
The Word = Brilliant

I love his interviews with obvious W hating congress people, and he asks, "GeorgeW, great president or greatest president"? Their facial expressions of confusion are priceless.

13. Laughing here! There was a small uproar lately by a couple of Reps.
both Dem and Repug who didn't realize that he was doing satire. Pretty soon it will be difficult for him to go through all of the Congressional Districts. This week was also priceless with Dan Senor (even typing him name makes want to barf). He also thought the Colbert was agreeing with him. These people are so eager to get their face plastered over the small screen and they don't have a clue.
