ABC World News Tonight .......'Vivi, the missing dog'

Normally we watch CBS News but last night it wasn't on so we turned on ABC. 'Vivi, the missing dog' was an amazingly long segment. I love dogs, and appreciate all they are doing for the dog but it seemed that ABC was doing "fill-in". This program is billed as "world" news. I don't believe there was one single piece of world news on last night.

This afternoon, I was going up the channels to the Weather Channel when I landed on Faux News.

They were showing some big firefight from Iraq (in the dark?) and talking about how many people had been killed and all that.

Sheesh, why isn't Fox News showing all the good news from Bahgdad today?

20. Much as I love dogs

and a purebreed at that, I have to say that when it comes to show dogs the money from stud fees/puppies tends to win out over any love of the animal. Seen it too many times so I'm skeptical on this one. Especially when the owner was interviewed on GMA and the first thing out of her mouth was how much the dog was worth.

5. What is it with the dog news?

Last night our local station reported on a dog "pageant". The dogs were dressed up in little outfits with sequins and ostrich feathers. There was a "talent" portion where they did tricks, and the the real "competitors" had resumes with lots of good deeds and community service, like visiting nursing homes and such.

A pomeranian in a fetching little pink outfit won. It was adorable and all, but, jeez! This is important news?????

The greyhound was being shown at a dog show. They're offering a $5000 reward. It won't pay off the national debt, but it's a start....
