Does * think the world is coming to an end?
My cynical mind was wandering and an absolutely dreadful thought popped up. What if asshole is being advised that global warming is inevitable, and the world is basically fucked for the next couple of hundred years. There will be mass famine as people leave the coasts and infrastructure can't keep up. War and revolution become the norm as the masses say "If we gotta die, so do you". Law as we know it breaks down and people revert to a kill or be killed mentality.

Then it kinda makes sense what asshole is doing. First, make sure all your buddies get as rich as possible before the masses take the truth as inevitable. This will allow them to purchase the best land that remains. Deny, deny, deny that industry has anything to do with the problem. (These are your buddies, after all) Secure as much oil as possible. Intimidate the fuck out of the world with smart bombs, bunker buster nukes, etc. If nothing else, this will at least delay the onset of the wars against the US and will allow your buddies to accumulate more wealth. Buy a few detention centers that can hold a million people each. (You just never know.) And of course, the ends justify the means. Steal elections, murder people, whatever. And lets not forget the religious right. Gotta get as much mileage as possible out of them. So heavy emphasis on faith based initiatives. Again, keep things in control as long as possible. And as always, when the shit does hit the fan, blame the democrats. After all, it was they who ran up the deficit to 9 trillion. Running out of money? No problem, borrow from the Chinese. It's not like we'll have to pay it back.

3. Pretty close..
if not right on the money.

There has been a cabal of end-timers in DC for quite some time.

'Remember James Watt, President Reagan's first secretary of the Interior? My favorite online environmental journal, the ever-engaging Grist, reminded us recently of how James Watt told the U.S. Congress that protecting natural resources was unimportant in light of the imminent return of Jesus Christ. In public testimony he said, "after the last tree is felled, Christ will come back."'

that quote is from a pretty interesting article:

4. I definitely think there is more to this administration that simple.......
.....religious fervor and mere arrogant disregard for the Constitution. There is something behind it all - behind the money, the oil, and everything - that has to make it worth it.

8. Love that graphic!
Maybe we can make a Bush monument - a tiny model-sized obelisk with socks all over it to symbolized his codpiece and a pair of little oil tanks at the base
