Congress not likely to take a stand on Iraq this year?
I heard on C-SPAN, from Roll Call, that congress will not likely take a stand on the war, (I mean illegal invasion of Iraq) since it is a freakin Election year ! This is a moral travesty.

An Iraqi sits next to the coffin reserved for his relative, who was killed in a clash outside a hospital in Baghdad's Sadr City.

1. What kind of stand would you expect them to take?

2. Expect them to take or Want them to take?
I want them to take Murtha's lead. But, what this is saying to me, is that they are too pussy to take ANY stand - one way or another, because either way, they get hurt. (or so they think). So don't they read the polls? Most people want a pull out by the end of the year? So who the hell are they worried about offending.

5. Just like everything else the spineless asses do...

Time to vote in some people that will take the job seriously, and are not there just for the bucks and the perks.

7. Congress is controlled by Rethugs
Do you honestly think they will allow the Iraq War to go on the agenda?

The House of Reps is very tightly controlled by the Repubs. The only time they will put the War on the agenda is if they think they have something that will embarrass the Dems. They tried this last Nov when the tried to pass a parody resolution of what Jack Murtha proposed in withdrawing troops from Iraq.

The Senate is also controlled by Rethugs. The Dems can bring this up on the campaign trail and in speeches, but the Rethugs are never going to allow open debate on this. And they control the agenda.
