They had an ad about how gays, minorities, and poor were welcome at their church, and very few would run it, but it was a great message.. The ad was great, and it stated on no uncertain terms that everyone was welcome at their churches..

10. Yes, this is the second great ad put out by the UCC. I just

googled our town and find there is a UCC only a few blocks from me. I was born a Catholic and have explored many religions in my time, bith Christian and non-Christian. The shrub's religous takeover has soured me on church and even God for many years. He hasn't done it alone of course... the religious nuts out there (some of whom are members of my married family) have helped to allow me to see the light i.e. if there is a God, we haven't a clue about what It is. But I miss the comfort of faith, especially lately when my life has gone all to hell. Maybe a stop in at the UCC is in order. Then again, maybe not.

21. I am proud to say...

that I grew up in the UCC, and the teachings and beliefs from my childhood in that church had a profound effect on how I came to view the world. The UCC preaches an all-inclusive and welcoming message, nonjudgmental, accepting, all the things you want to believe Christianity could and should be. You do, however, have to learn to think for yourself in the UCC, which is probably why the southern baptists are so huge--for far too many it is easier not to have to think, just take in and regurgitate the hate and bigotry in a mindless frenzy.
