That would be the best. Nothing to divide us. No war over borders, no religious differences because of no religion, no strife. Everybody living together in harmony. I wondered in another post if dividing up Iraq between the three main sects would be a good idea. Upon further review, I have to agree with many of those who said it would not. A united Iraq, for that matter a united world without borders would be a wonderful world and something we should make our goal.

12. Some years back, Rush Limbaugh went stark raving bugshit over "Imagine."

It was an anniversary of John Lennon's death and Limbaugh dedicated his entire show to the song. (My impression was that he'd never before listened to the lyrics.)

He went into incredible depth about how only a "communist, atheist, drugged-up, hippie could have written such trash. (Yeah, I get the drugged-up irony.)

He dissected each line for his dittohead audience. "'Imagine there's no heaven.' Can you believe someone writing a line like that, my friends? Who knows how many impressionable young minds he influenced? Who knows how many lives he ruined? Let's face it, folks. This is atheistic communism at its worst."

I was in the car and listened to this shit for about an hour. I'm paraphrasing what he said, but this was the crux of his diatribe.

The only thing I can add to this is, imagine a world with no Limbaugh and no dittoheads.

I hadn't heard the song for years, until I heard it on the "Going Upriver" video - it more than the other well chosen songs in that film - real brought back the intensity of those years.
