New poll shows Dems leading even more than before...
So I decided to browse the Democratic forums for posts about not supporting the DNC...it is usually the DNC that is attacked the most. There they were. Right on time.

Just saying. Strange that posting about supporting the Democratic party at Democratic sites is not very popular.

A few interesting notes from Time Magazine's most recent profile of the 2006 midterm election landscape. First, there are the numbers:

Standing up to special interests?

Democrats: 40%
Republicans: 22%

Managing government spending?
Democrats: 46%
Republicans: 31%

Dealing with corruption?
Democrats: 39%
Republicans: 25%

Protecting the rights of Americans:

3. Did I miss something?
Did the DNC do something and I slept through it? Darn!

Or did the Republicans finally just become so utterly odious, that poll responders just can't bring themselves to answer that way anymore?

5. No, you must not support them...They are very bad people.
Just thought I would show the poll.

Just stay away from that nasty old DNC because that horrible Howard Dean is leading it, and you know how he is. Really really bad.

16. You are right, stay away from them. Do not support them.
We don't need a party structure at all. We can all fight for our rights all by ourselves. We can just withhold from them and let the GOP finish the job on Social Security and Medicare....and they will.it is their goal.

But stay away from the Democrats...those worthless things.

4. We also need a poll question on perception of national security.
That one kicked us in the teeth in 2004...as a caller for the Kerry campaign I was yelled at by a lot of well-off sounding Republicans that sounded terified of terrorism, and were stoked by the Bush campaign's terror build-up.

it's important to rmeber that many vote on local issues not on who they want to control the government.

For that reason I do not think senatecontrol will change.

11. And tonight I swear I heard Tweety saying it was nearly even
Maybe I missed something, but I swear I heard the set-up beginning...that so far Democrats have only been able to garner enough support to predict a near 50/50 split come November.

Which, of course, means: Enter Diebold.

Hey guys, not to be a Debbie Downer, but prepare yourselves. They will find a way to justify the next stolen election via polls, just like last time. It's gonna happen. Too much is at stake. Too freakin' much.

19. It is partly also the DNC working at local levels...
And people doing letter writing using tools from there, and the DNC and other groups asking for petitions to be signed against things that will hurt us.

I think 90,000 messages were sent to Allard for attacking Feingold. That is a lot of Democrats working with the DNC.

25. Or Russ Feingolds' forcing the issue.
Heaven knows, we don't see anything from the "official" Dems.

And overall, I think the poll numbers just show disillusionment with Republicans, not necessarily support for Dems. Which is still good, but, as usual, the Democratic leadership has nothing to rush into the gap with.

28. I just posted an official Dem response...just above your post.
I will post it again.

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/37

"Last week nearly 90,000 Americans like you singled out Republican Senator Wayne Allard for accusing a Democrat of siding with terrorists by demanding accountability from the Bush administration for its illegal domestic spying program.

That quick reaction by Democrats who won't stand for this kind of disgusting attack put Allard on the hot seat and generated press coverage of his ridiculous, desperate comments. Your steadfast defense of Democrats like Harry Reid, Jack Murtha and Russ Feingold when they have stood up and demanded accountability shows everyone that there will be a political price for underhanded and un-American attacks."

from Dean at the DNC

30. Yeah, I got that, too.
In fact, I get several a week from the DNC. Just can't bring myself to classify them as "junk" quite yet.

And how he can list Russ F. in the same sentence as Harry Reid is rather appalling, given the non-support Feingold got with his censure motion.

Oh well, I guess they're trying. Sorta.

21. And yet it doesn't matter...
I don't believe a Democrat will ever be in a majority position or a President again.

This country is bought and owned by corporations. Your vote doesn't matter.

Going to vote is a quaint exercise in pretending to be like our forefathers... It's never going to work again.

I'm seriously considering not even voting anymore. Now that the corporations own us, just burning the gas to go play Pretend Citizen seems like a hallow farce and a waste.

I don't know why you waste your time supporting Democrats. They know nothing and do nothing. These poll numbers you posted are absolutely terrible. I'll never support another Democrat (damn pussies and wussies) for as long as I live.

Oh, and that Howard Dean. He just sits around doing absolutely diddly-shit in every state in the union.
Kansas is one state I can think of where he has done next to nothing to get the grassroots effort going.
These poll numbers couldn't possibly be a reflection of the work that Dean has been doing.

37. For crying out loud have some faith! We have a lot of people working
on the elections. The internet has been our best friend because it has allowed fraud that would not have been uncovered to be out in the wide open.

Even the Nazis went down eventually. It really bothers me to see people acting so negatively.

get fewer hits and recommends than anti-Democratic posts? It is getting to be that way here a lot. Kind of sad.
