Pigs Are Flying, It's Snowing In Hell and Freepers Are Fleeing The GOP
Looks like the out of control spending and the illegal immigration has finally caused a free for all revolt.

This bodes well. ;)

Gee, how about a GOP controlled congress that cuts spending. Is that to much to ask?

I'd add border security and gov't spending.

As a real conservative, I have been conned by the Republican Party FOR THE LAST TIME.

They're caving on the immigration bill. This means +10,000,000 more Democrat votes in 5 years. It's over.

The Republicans have gone absolutely suicidal. I'm willing to help drive the knife in.

42. I never was a Republican,
but the first time I heard Rush, I knew that my years of being neither were over. I could not support anyone that he supported. I could not support anyone that was supported by all that venom and hatred. I wanted a world that was more gentle, more understanding and more accepting of people who are different from me.

I liked voting for the candidate and not the party, but I can't have that luxury now. I have to support the Dem candidate no matter what.

I spent most of my life not declaring a party, though I almost always voted Democratic. Never Republican.

But these days, you're right. We have to support the Democratic candidate because that's the only one with a snowball's chance in hell of turning the Republicans out of office. And throwing them out is the top priority. We've seen how much damage they can do in just a few years. I would have thought it impossible until I saw it happen.

53. Until this administration, I thought there were checks and balances
in place to keep us protected from a dictatorship that attacks other countries first and spys on its own citizens.
The Neo-cons have taken over the Republican party instead of forming their own. Once the Republicans throw out the fearmongers, hatemongers and warmongers they might have a few decent people, but right now, they are a dangerous party.

I never thought there was this much damage one administration could do to our nation in such a short period of time.

5. The groups of Freepers
1) Bushbots and Republicans: These people will support Bush and the GOP no matter what. If He tells them to jump off a building, they will do it because der Leader said so.

2) Libertarians: Wacko small government types who would take us back to the days when there were no child labor laws, no social security, no minimum wage and corporations basically ran the country. They are genuinely mad at Bush for out of control spending, and the fact that government is bigger now than it ever was with him in the White House. A few of them are pro-choice.

3) Conservatives who keep their distance from the GOP: They support the party when the party meets their needs, but they are more dedicated to ideological principle than to political party. They are mad at Bush over the ports deal, the Harriet Miers appointment, immigration issues, Bush's signing of the McCain-Feingold law, the Medicare drug bill and his support for the assault weapons ban.

8. Yup. It's been interesting...
...to watch some here claim that this immigration issue is a "Rovian trick" to get us off on a tangent or something, as if immigration is a GOP strong point. It isn't. I think Rove and the boys are SCARED TO DEATH of this issue.

Why?

Because so many GOP officeholders from the West and South have been demagoguing on this issue for years and years. The GOP base despises open immigration, in no small part because of the noise they hear from their reps. So here comes George pushing a soft ("soft' by GOP base standards) immigration bill. Two choices are presented: get behind the boss or defy him.

This issue has the possibility within it to blow the GOP coalition to smithereens. We may wind up seeing another bombthrower on immigration run in '08, a la Pat Buchanan, who would siphon votes away from the main GOP candidate and require him/her to spend money defending themselves, a la Bush in '92 and Dole in '96.

That would be a good thing.

18. Start The Whisper Campaign..."Third Party...Third Party..."
We sure as hell don't want these poor excuses for cellular structure as part of our side (I'd stick icepicks in my eyes first)...so why not get these losers busy on a circular firing squad project...since the GOOP has betrayed so many of their "values" (coughbullshitcough) it's time they started a "revival" of the CONservative movement...and time to form a third party.

Surely we can find an icon for these goobers to glam around...how about O'Reilly for President or the G Man or the Trix Rabbit...it doesn't matter...just as long as that becomes an obsession in freeperland. Not only would that make for hours of amusement and great payback, but also would make things real, real good in 2008 as well.

Get the word out...O'Reilly could run this country better than booosh...surely he should strongly consider running as an Independent...be a real "man of the people", Bill.

There was talk that the Alabama "Ten Commandments" judge might be the Constitution Party candidate in 2004. I was rooting for him. He inspires a lot of fundy fervor, and he had the potential to be another Ralph Nader (only in reverse). Alas, he didn't seek the nomination.

Any citizen may challenge.

In this county, the challenged would vote on a provisional ballot.

We were told to watch out for the people who want to make the challenges. They could be targeting a specific group.

One poll worker challenged a voter who gave a false name. The name was in the pollbook and was eligible. It just happened to be the challengers name.
